It has been a hot minute, and I apologise for that. As a lot of you may be aware, my silence has been due to the fact I have been busy moving interstate! My family and I made the move from Darwin to Adelaide at the beginning of January where we moved into our home mid January. My key focus at that time was getting the kids into schools, unpacking bedrooms and the kitchen - you know, the more functional spaces you need to have in order to live. Which meant I neglected my crafting space.
Now here's a snap shot of where I'm up to with the craft space. Still a lot of work to go, but slowly getting there. I have a far smaller space to work with than what I had in Darwin, so it's a little tricky trying to get it functional but also not overwhelming. As a neurospicy individual, I find that if there's too much going on around me, I can't simply relax and let my imagination go wild - I feel claustrophobic and overwhelmed and this impedes so much on my creativity.
I also find the whole task of unpacking and organising really overwhelming, so when I get that spark or motivation, I try to go hard with it for as long as possible!
I was hoping to have this all completed by now, however illness hit me hard over 2 weeks ago now, and I've had to put a full brake on any unpacking to be able to recover. My health must come first as my health is what allows me to be a good mother and wife. Without good health, I am no good to anyone. I am regaining my energy, though quite slowly, and have commenced back at work on a gradual return. I am hoping that as I begin to feel better, I will be able to spend some time in this room to keep organising it, unpacking, and finding my next spark of creativity!
My creativity hasn't been dormant though - I have still been doing some colouring in, and cooking. I love cooking and learning new recipes, so I might do a post in the coming days to share with you some of my latest bakes and meals I have been cooking.
In the meantime, I will use this as my way of staying accountable to keep working in my creative space to get it back to being functional, and give you an update in the next couple of weeks! So stay tuned!! 💜
