The Bookshop Darwin is proud to be locally owned and independent. Our range of books covers everything from crime, to romance, to histories, and anything in-between - there's something for everyone. We also sell gifts, games, soaps, candles, cards, and diaries. We regularly have author talks and signings so stay tuned to our page for the details. It’s rare that we ask for something and offer nothing in return, but that’s what we’re about to do.

Please give us $15.

It’s not for a sale or a discount or a special offer or a gift edition. You’ll give us $15 and we’ll thank you for it.

What you DO get is the satisfaction of fostering the next generation of young readers. Putting your money where your mouth is for youth literacy. Donating a book straight into the hands of a kid whose got plenty of time to read but only a few scraps of pocket money.

Ask us about our Pay it Forward vouchers. School holidays are around the corner, and we need more now, because over 360 kids have benefitted from this initiative, but there are plenty more who could.

While we're devastated to lose Ash, we are thrilled to announce that Andy has been promoted to the position of manager of The Bookshop Darwin and of ! 🎉🥳

Andy began working at The Store at the Museum in 2022 and later joined us at The Bookshop Darwin in 2024. Since then, we have seen Andy blossom in her career as a bookseller and are so pleased to have her skills, expertise, and friendly smile around with us in this new role! 📚

We're saying farewell to our lovely manager, Ashlee, as she departs Darwin for a new adventure in Alice Springs 🐊🐪

Ashlee has been with The Bookshop Darwin for over 10 years and has managed both the bookshop team and our team over at our sister store, The Store at the Museum!

It is hard to put into words just how much Ash will be missed by us all, but we wish her the very best in all her future endeavours. Thank you Ash for being such an amazing manager ❤
