Film Club’s ghost here reporting from the afterlife about a little shop two doors down from where we were, which opened in 2014 and continues to carry the torch for physical media of all stripes - books, records, CDs, and yes, plenty of DVD and blu-rays from the world’s pre-eminent boutique labels... Radio Free Alice is the brainchild of James Tsai and one of the joys of working next to him was being able to pick his brain about film, music, literature, and art of all kinds & bring home goodies from his awesomely-curated selection. When you’re visiting just make sure to avert your eyes from the sad, empty space two spots over to the right...

That's why giving back is important to us; throughout our final week we'll be donating 50% of our daily takings to a different charity. Today's cause of choice is the Red Cross (link in bio) who're currently helping clean up after the catastrophic floods in the Northern Rivers and elsewhere.

It is with sadness that we announce Film Club will be closing permanently in March.

We'd like to thank all of our amazing patrons, past and present, for supporting Film Club through its unlikely decade of existence and helping us to become Sydney's last, best video store.

Rentals will continue for another few weeks but starting tomorrow everything aside from new releases will be on sale. (Prices below)

We have a few more pleasant surprises in the coming weeks so stay tuned for our final act.

Long live Film Club. 📀 ♾

The 50 titles pictured below are just a few available to rent that you can’t stream or download in Australia, including cult titles as well as renowned classics (Near Dark, Black Christmas, Dead Alive, Kuroneko, Witchfinder General, Posession, House) and it’s only the tip of the iceberg! (EDIT: meant Cronenberg’s Rabid, not Shivers - the latter is downloadable but not streamable).
