After 50 years of business, Hans Music has decided to close its doors on Friday the 26th of August 2022. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our wonderful customers over the years, we will miss you all!

Why is your retail store closing?

Hans and Monika (the directors) are in their mid-80’s and want some more time in their life for travel, gardening and all the fun things they deserve after 50 years of service to the community!

Is someone else going to take over?

At this stage, no. Music retail is a tough industry, the after effects of ongoing Covid lockdowns and the presence of heightened competition from online only mega-retailers makes small family run music stores, like Hans Music, harder and harder to profitably operate. We will continue to sell any remaining items of stock on the website as well as our specialized imports such as Sageworks, Dynarette, Woodside, Moeck, Earth Song, Octanotes, Meyer Percussion & Meyer Orchestral online.

Where can I get my instruments repaired?

We highly recommend the following local repairers:

Sachar Amos for all instrument repairs (he is a professional instrument maker and highly capable orchestral luthier, bow re-hairier and classical guitar maker). He is located in the Basin, VIC. www.sacharamos.com

Morrison Music Repairs for all wind and brass instrument repairs. Located in Mount Evelyn.

Where will I get my musical instruments and accessories?

There are several reputable music stores near us:

What about my instrument warranty?

All instrument warranties will be passed on to the relevant Australian suppliers. You can email [email protected] if you want to lodge a warranty request. Alternately see our ‘returns and warranties’ information page for more specific warranty information in relation to key brands.
