This beautiful Kawai wasn't being utilised as much as its owner would have liked. He contacted us after learning about the technology to make it a self-playing piano, and in less than a month we were able to make this a reality. Now it is so much more than a stunning showpiece - it can accurately play thousands of tracks, from classical pieces to modern popular music, on demand from an iPad.

We recently had the privilege of working on a 50 year-old Steinway & Sons model D concert grand, blending the rich history of this iconic instrument with modern technology.

After some minor restoration to the action to improve its touch, tone and tuning stability, we retrofitted the PianoDisc Prodigy II self-playing system, allowing it to perform beautifully both manually and automatically.

The piano was then safely delivered to its stunning new location, becoming the centrepiece of its owner's space. The transformation is nothing short of magical, combining the craftsmanship of Steinway with cutting-edge innovation to enhance an instrument that will continue to inspire for generations to come.

The owner is thrilled, and we're honoured to have been a part of this journey!

After retrofitting the PianoDisc Prodigy into this beautiful K.Kawai baby grand and delivering it to the proud owner in East Gippsland, we visited their beautiful home to tune it and take some photos. The owner has been thrilled with the system and enjoys playing it when family and friends visit. In such a stunning setting, it really is the perfect entertainment centrepiece!

Throwback to one of our most unique PianoDisc Prodigy retrofit projects!

Due to the increased awareness and popularity of self-playing piano systems, Smart Pianos was recently created and separated from Classic Piano Restorations to service this very different market.
