We are passionate guitarists. Whether your goal is repairing, or achieving the best performance from your guitar; we can help.

With proper care and maintenance, guitars offer a very long playing life. As a portable instrument, they experience wear and tear from being moved around, and occasionally knocks too. Selecting the best strings and set up for each guitar makes a big difference.

Our guitar services include cleaning fret boards and rehydrating with oil, which drastically prolongs guitar life. In electric guitars, we clean and maintain electronics to avoid screeching, crackling and other issues.

Set-up & Restringing:

Talk to us about achieving the sound and performance peak for your guitars. We can optimise instruments to suit a playing style, fix tone or tuning issues, and solve buzzing issues in both acoustic and electric guitars.

Services also include re-levelling or replace the frets, plus complete cleaning and cabinet restoration, or simply applying fresh coat of oil.

Set-up & Restringing:

Selecting the right strings and bridge, and setting up instruments properly makes a massive difference to the overall sound and playing experience of your stringed instrument.

We offer a choice of quality strings and parts, or can work with your selection.

Fleet Maintenance:

We recommend once or twice a year that your complete stock of stringed instruments are serviced and set up properly.

Violin Repair:

Accidents happen - we’ve seen it all! The incredibly talented team of craftsmen at Gourley Music are able to repair all kinds of stringed instruments.

Common repairs include sound post replacement, repairing head stock cracking, repairing cracked soundboards, replacing pegs, and restoring broken scrolls.
We take the time and care to produce excellent repair results.

Our complete string instrument maintenance service includes regular care, as well as accident repair.

Service is available on-site, and intricate or bulk work may be taken to our workshop in Hurstbridge for completion.
