Originally constructed in the early 1910s, Villino Cavalsassi is a striking example of Roman Art Nouveau eclecticism, where classical architectural forms are enriched with elegant decorative detailing and delicate floral motifs. Today, the building is home to the Cavalsassi Foundation, with a carefully considered façade lighting scheme that celebrates its architectural heritage after dark.

Designed by lighting designer Marco Ferrelli in collaboration with Qu Lighting, the illumination enhances the villa's refined proportions while respecting its historic character. Carefully positioned architectural lighting highlights the rhythm of the columns, cornices and arches, revealing the building's intricate details with warmth and precision without overwhelming the façade.

The result is a sophisticated balance of light and shadow that reinforces the villa's timeless elegance. Rather than dominating the architecture, the lighting quietly reveals its craftsmanship, transforming Villino Cavalsassi into a striking nighttime landmark while preserving the integrity of one of Rome's architectural treasures.

The Ghost Wall redefines minimalist architectural lighting by disappearing almost entirely into the surrounding surface. Part of the innovative AirCoral® Collection, this trimless luminaire integrates seamlessly into plasterboard walls and ceilings, leaving only a precise aperture visible for a truly invisible lighting effect.

Designed to become part of the architecture itself, Ghost Wall features a parabolic body that delivers a smooth, uniform wall-washing effect when installed in ceilings. It can also be mounted vertically in walls, with the flexibility of upward or downward light distribution to suit a wide range of architectural applications.

Manufactured in raw white AirCoral®, the fitting can be painted to match the surrounding surface, ensuring complete visual integration. Combining refined aesthetics with efficient LED performance, Ghost Wall is an ideal solution for galleries, luxury residences, hospitality venues and commercial interiors where clean lines and uninterrupted architecture are paramount.

The restoration of the Tebaide fresco cycle has revealed one of Siena's remarkable 14th-century artistic treasures, returning its rich narrative, colour and intricate detail to public view. Hidden beneath the vaults of the Compagnia dei Disciplinati for centuries, the restored frescoes demanded a lighting solution that would both preserve and celebrate their historical significance.

Working in harmony with the conservation team, Qu Lighting developed a bespoke lighting scheme tailored specifically to the artwork and its preservation requirements. Custom Rocchetto luminaires, inspired by the form of medieval torches, were carefully integrated into the architecture, allowing them to complement the historic setting without drawing attention to themselves.

Every beam of light has been precisely directed to reveal the subtle gestures, textures and storytelling within the frescoes, while high colour rendering faithfully enhances the original 14th-century pigments. The result is a lighting design that quietly supports the artwork, allowing visitors to experience the depth, atmosphere and extraordinary craftsmanship of the Tebaide exactly as intended.

Dating back to the early 1200s, the Chapel of the Nunziatina is a protected cultural landmark that has been carefully restored to preserve its historic character while enhancing the visitor experience through thoughtful architectural lighting.

Working alongside Studio63, Qu Lighting developed a discreet lighting scheme that respects the chapel's heritage while revealing the beauty of its original stonework, brick detailing and surrounding landscape. Indirect linear lighting, recessed ground luminaires and minimalist suspended fixtures work together to create a gentle rhythm of light, guiding visitors through the nave towards the sacristy without distracting from the architecture itself.

As evening falls, the lighting transforms the chapel into a quiet beacon within the Tuscan landscape. Carefully placed illumination accentuates the historic structure and surrounding ancient pines, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that celebrates both the architecture and its natural setting. The result is a timeless lighting design where every element has been considered to honour the building's history while enriching the experience of those who visit.

Corte Renèe is a thoughtful restoration of traditional Italian rural architecture, celebrating the authenticity, craftsmanship and timeless character of the original buildings while introducing the comfort and functionality expected of contemporary hospitality.

Working closely with the design team, Qu Lighting developed a discreet architectural lighting scheme that complements rather than competes with the historic fabric. Carefully integrated throughout the project, the lighting responds to the limited natural daylight typical of rural buildings, creating warm, inviting interiors that enhance guest comfort while preserving the quiet elegance of the architecture.

Small-scale luminaires were selected for their ability to blend seamlessly with the building's black steel detailing, forming a refined lighting language that remains present without dominating the space. Custom lighting solutions, including fixtures integrated into concrete landscape elements, furniture and architectural surfaces, were developed specifically for the project. The result is a cohesive dialogue between architecture, craftsmanship and light, where every element works together to honour the building's heritage while elevating the guest experience.

The File Flex Outdoor Collection redefines what linear architectural lighting can achieve in exterior environments. Designed as a versatile family of floor, wall, ceiling and suspended, the system combines clean geometry with the freedom to create flowing curves and custom configurations that respond to any architectural vision.

Manufactured from extruded aluminium profiles, File Flex offers both beautifully diffused illumination through a flexible opal silicone diffuser and precision accent lighting using Leva Series multi-optic LED modules. This flexibility allows designers to seamlessly transition between ambient and feature lighting while maintaining a cohesive visual language throughout the project.

Whether framing outdoor entertaining spaces, defining circulation paths or creating sculptural lighting features, File Flex delivers a refined balance of technical performance and contemporary design. The result is a lighting solution that becomes part of the architecture itself – elegant by day and striking after dark.

Housed within the historic Palazzo Almerici, the Museo Archeologico Oliveriano has been thoughtfully reimagined to create a museum experience where architecture, artefacts and light exist in complete harmony.

Inspired by the principles of Arte Povera, the lighting design was developed to respond individually to each exhibition space, using carefully controlled illumination to enhance the visitor experience without distracting from the collection. Rather than simply lighting the exhibits, the project explores light itself as a design material, creating a deliberate rhythm of bright, transitional and dark spaces that guides visitors naturally through the museum.

Using precision LED technology, the lighting allows complete control over beam angles and accent illumination, ensuring every archaeological artefact is revealed with exceptional clarity while preserving the calm atmosphere of the galleries. The result is a refined architectural lighting solution that enhances both the museum's historic character and its contemporary exhibition design.
