Choosing Your Child’s First Flute? 🎶

With 11 different student flutes to choose from, there’s no need to simply buy the first brand you recognise.

At Tempest Music, families can compare student flutes from leading makers including Pearl, Yamaha, Jupiter and Eastman. We’ll explain the differences and help narrow the choice to instruments that suit your child and your budget.

For younger players, size matters too. We have three smaller flute options, so we can individually size your child to find the most comfortable fit.

Not ready to buy? Rental and rent-to-buy options are available.

There’s no rush to choose. Come in, compare and give your child the best possible start.

His First Full Size Violin

Upgrading to a full-size violin is a major milestone, and this talented player just locked in his very first 4/4 instrument!

Coming in with Mum to try out a range of models from Gliga, Eastman, and Kreisler, the selection quickly turned into a battle of the Gligas. After testing several European models, the one that stood out with the perfect tone and responsiveness was the Gliga II 4/4.

Happy playing!

New Trumpet Time! 🎺

This lovely gentleman came up all the way from Albany to check out our range of trumpets. Most excited by our Schagerl lineup, he tried out models from Yamaha, Eastman, and Jupiter just to be certain.

The clear winner of the day was the Schagerl James Morrison Jazz JM1!

"The reverse leadpipe provides superb intonation and an easy response, while the gold brass bell creates a rich, fat sound with brilliant overtones." — James Morrison

We know you're going to love playing this horn. Happy playing!
