The Fox Contrabassoon has landed!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce a very special new arrival ….
a stunning Fox Contrabassoon, destined for its new home at Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) !

As many of you know, our very own Fran Tempest is a bassoonist at heart, so "excited" is an understatement. To make the arrival even more special, we had Chloe Turner, the Principal Contrabassoonist for the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO), drop by to test it out.

Safe to say, it received an official "tick of approval" from one of the best in the business!

It’s not every day you get to see (and hear) such a magnificent instrument up close.

Teaching by example just got a whole lot louder (and shinier) ✨✨

This lovely trumpet teacher decided to take the plunge and upgrade his horn 🎺

After popping up from Bunbury and play-testing a range of our finest from Bach, Yamaha, XO Brass and Schagerl, the one that won the day was the Yamaha Xeno 8335RS 💪

Its warm focused tone and smooth resistance made this one a winner!🤩

This one is truly something special! ✨✨

During our recent Meet and Greet with Morrie Backun and the Day of Woodwind, talented clarinettist Ainslie fell in love with the marvelous Backun Musical Services Bass Clarinets.

To make her purchase even more memorable, Morrie hand-selected an instrument specifically for her. The result is this stunning Backun Q Series in Cocobolo. It plays even better than it looks—and it looks incredible!

Backun is a powerhouse of phenomenal instruments and a must-try for any player. We know this particular Bass Clarinet is going to make a big wave in the Perth music scene, and Ainslie couldn’t be more excited to finally get her hands on it.

This talented musician visited us recently to find her perfect upgrade. After consulting with her teacher and puttting several models from Yamaha, Schagerl, and Eastman to the test, she fell in love with the look and sound of the Jupiter 1100 Twilight Smoke. It truly won the day! 🎷✨

This wonderful student stopped by to select the perfect upgrade! After visiting us at the UWA Conservatorium of Music Day of Woodwind, she fell in love with the range of instruments we had on display.

Choosing the right flute is a journey. We looked at factors like silver content and open holes, auditioning top-tier models from Altus, Azumi, Eastman, Di Zhao, Yamaha, and Pearl.

The final choice? The brilliant Azumi Z3! With its sterling silver body and headjoint, this model delivers a powerful, expressive sound that is perfect for an advancing player.

This talented young trumpet player was ready to upgrade to a more serious instrument to see her through her future exams. Using our rigorous testing process, selecting from brands like Yamaha, Schagerl, Eastman, Jupiter, B & S and Bach... She quickly narrowed it down to "The One" - The James Morrison Klassic by Schagerl featuring double twin leadpipe with nickel silver outer tube, heavy valve caps and gorgeous silver-plated finish resulting in a a dark, full, centred sound.

We know you love your new instrument, and we're so excited to see where it will take you!

Now that’s one happy sax player 🎷😎

This Lovely Student had been thinking about upgrading her sax for a little while.
and where better then, the place that has all the best brands in one spot.

After playing our fabulous range of Eastman, Yanagisawa, Schagerl and Yamaha, there was one she just couldn’t put down!
The star ⭐️ of the show was the Yanagisawa AW01, a phenomenal horn made with impeccable Japanese craftsmanship

We’re sure the bright smile will be beaming all week.
