NAIDOC Week 2026 – 50 Years of Deadly!
for fifty years, the NAIDOC movement has celebrated the strength, resilience, creativity, and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is also a time to honour the Elders, artists, activists, community leaders, and generations of people whose courage and dedication have helped shape a more inclusive Australia.
At Doodle Den, inclusion isn't just something we talk about, it's something we strive to live every day. We believe everyone deserves to be seen, heard, respected, and celebrated for exactly who they are. Our differences are not what divide us, they are what make us and our communities richer, stronger, and more colourful.
As we celebrate this milestone, we also recognise that reconciliation is an ongoing journey. Listening, learning, supporting First Nations voices, and standing together are things that matter not just this week, but every day of the year.
To all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, thank you for sharing your stories, culture, art, and wisdom. We celebrate your achievements, honour your history, and look forward with hope, to a future built on respect, understanding, and belonging.
As we celebrate 50 Years of Deadly, we also acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the Den stands, where we create, dance, laugh, and play. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples❤️💛🖤
