As we are approaching our fire restriction period here in Australia, our local Country Fire Authority members turn their attention to protection mode and at a drop of a hat, respond to each and every fire alert in our community and region.
My youngest son has recently joined the Creswick Brigade and as a mum, it literally freaks me out that he is out there fighting the monster that fire is, but it also makes me feel very proud of his commitment to protecting our communities. In our Birch ward we have several townships surrounded by forests and farming, we are known for this, with many visitors camping, gold panning and mountain bike riding, not to mention the great food producers and wonderful mineral springs. Therefore, it’s essential that our CFA has the best equipment to battle fires.
To this end, I encourage anyone who loves spending time out in Central Victoria or who simply wants to support these incredible brave volunteers, to please donate to the Kingston Fire Brigade with details in this shared post. Help them raise the final $6000 needed to pay in full for this new truck. All very much appreciated.
Kind regards
Belinda
New Tanker Update. CFA have announced that our new Brigade-owned and Community-based Tanker 2 is in production and is estimated to be delivered to us by mid 2026!
CFA are building 50 of these Light Tankers with the first seven delivered to Echuca Village, Ellerslie, Greendale, Kingston, Bulart, Corinella and Jamieson brigades.
We would like to thank all our local community for their donations and the Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP) funding grant for the new tanker.
At this time we are approximately $6,000 short of our $50,000 fundraising target - and now that we have a delivery deadline of 7 months, we encourage and appreciate all donations from residents and businesses in our area.
To support us, make a donation direct to the brigade: Kingston Urban Fire Brigade. BSB: 633 000. Account No. 142 131 663.
