We were very excited to support this event by loaning a cello by Andrea Schudtz violin maker and bow from Müsing!

We’re excited to share these brilliant before and after results from a recent repair completed by our Head Luthier, Thomas Price! 🎻

This 1891 Paul Bailly violin, had undergone multiple previous neck repairs—one involving a screw into the upper block, and another using pins through the button into the base of the neck. Thomas approached the restoration with the goal of achieving both strength and a clean, seamless finish, carefully cutting and fitting a new upper block, realigning the ribs, reinforcing and realigning the damaged button, replacing missing purfling, filling the pin holes, and expertly matching the varnish to the existing.

A lot of work and skill go into making a repair look like the damage was never there—and the results speak for themselves on this one. Well done, Thomas!
