Our little town is on the cusp of something big! Towers Jockey Club Inc is about to throw itself wholeheartedly into a massive renovation and facelift that will change the way we ‘event’ in Charters Towers.

The one thing that is sure to stay the same though is ‘The Little Red Shed’ it makes me smile just thinking about the history of this sweet little space, a bygone era, picnic races back when our great grandparents were children, a simpler way of life.

Everything about The Little Red Shed is special, from the sometimes resident tree snake 🥴 to the hardwood roof beams and the lines in the cement floor, today, I was given the opportunity to help pretty up this space alongside the most amazing crew of people, in celebration of International Women’s Day. Towers Jockey Club inc is made up of some extremely time poor people who sacrifice what little spare time they do have to create many magical occasions and make our races stand out from the rest!

Well done Ladies and Gentlemen, so excited to watch you all take this to the next level for our community!

**** Please read until the end of the post if you have booked a date for next year!****

The time has come for me to hang up my florist snippers and have a life! I will no longer be taking on any new weddings for next year and beyond. There are a couple of reasons for this decision, firstly, because of the COVID pause on 2020 I have been given a great employment opportunity that I absolutely love, and secondly, I’m in desperate need of carpal tunnel surgery, which will never happen if I don’t have at least 8 weeks between events for recovery, just another very unglamorous side to the floral life 😂 rest assured though, if you have a date booked with me for this year or next year, your booking is most definitely secured. I’ve loved every single minute of this crazy journey, the constant learning, making life long friends and experiences! Thank you thank you thank you to my amazing Husband, Children, Mum, Step Mum, Dad, Parents In-Law and my beautiful friends who are always there to jump in and save the day, or just sit up all hours of the night keeping me company in the studio. Thank you to all the gorgeous brides who’ve entrusted me with their wedding florals and styling, it’s been the greatest honour! Ciao for now, I’ll still be posting pics from time to time!
