Aigle Royal Group were proud to host the Large Format Retail Association (LFRA) WA Study Tour luncheon today at our Samara Casuarina large format retail development.

There were over 80 LFRA members from leading retailers and industry associates in attendance, providing a fantastic opportunity for networking and collaboration.

We were thrilled to showcase Aigle Royal’s capabilities and vision as well as the innovative features and economic potential of our Samara City development, highlighting our commitment to excellence within the large format retail landscape.

The proposed neighbourhood centre at the corner of Thomas Road and Central Avenue is the next step in Aigle Royal Group’s development of the site east of Kwinana Freeway, known as Samara Casuarina.

It opened Costco in late 2022 and in September received Metro Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel approval to build a $15 million retail centre with showroom tenancies, two cafes and 670 parking bays across 5.7ha of land north of the wholesale giant.

The latest plans are for a supermarket, speciality stores, several drive-through food outlets, liquor store, cafe with outdoor seating and medical centre.

There will also be a large car park, with 423 bays across the centre.

Aigle’s overall plans for the area also include housing opposite the shopping centre.

It previously said construction of the retail centre would start in the first half of 2024 and was expected to be open by mid-2025.

The City of Kwinana is seeking public feedback on the plans for the shopping centre, with designs by architectural firm Hames Sharley available for viewing on the city’s website.

Feedback is open until January 31.

Aigle Royal Group is thrilled to announce that it has received Development Approval for Stage 2 of the Samara Casuarina large format retail centre.

This exciting development is set to become a premier shopping and lifestyle destination in Perth's thriving southern corridor.

The Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) has given the green light for the next stage, which will encompass 25,000 square meters of large format retail space, food and beverage outlets, EV fast charging stations and approximately 670 car parking bays across the sprawling 5.7-hectare site.

Samara Casuarina holds immense significance for Aigle Royal as it presents a unique opportunity to urbanise and activate a new precinct within the Perth metropolitan area.

The approval of Stage 2 marks a significant milestone and the next step towards realisation of the broader masterplan, which envisions approximately 100,000 square meters of commercial floor space for retail, large format retail, food & beverage, light industrial, entertainment and other supporting commercial uses across 60 hectares.

Additionally, the masterplan considers an integrated residential precinct with a proposed neighbourhood shopping centre and other complementary lifestyle and community amenities.

Aigle Royal Group is dedicated to delivering the exciting project in a series of stages over the coming years with the development comprising major local, national, and international retailers, alongside the already operational $80 million Costco warehouse, which opened its doors to the public in December 2022.

Construction on the first part of Stage 2 is expected to commence in the first half of 2024 and despite current challenges within the construction sector, Aigle Royal remains focussed on completion by mid-2025.

Kwinana Councillors unanimously endorsed approval of the Samara Casuarina development on Thomas Road, north of Costco.

Cr Peter Feasey told the September 13 meeting, the $15 million development would “very good for local employment” and bring “significant” businesses to the area.

The panel which includes Mayor Carol Adams and Cr Matthew Rose will decide on September 26.

The application is for 25,000m² of large format retail, 2 cafes and approximately 670 car parking bays across the 5.7ha site.

“This development will further activate this emerging urban area and provide multiple benefits for both the local and wider community”.
