HELLO CIVIC! 💛

It’s been 2.5 weeks since Civic Proframe officially passed into my hands and I’m loving every minute of it.

A huge thank you to everyone who’s popped in to say hello, share stories, and check out the refreshed space. Your support means everything as I settle into this new chapter.

Still on my to-do list: a good window cleaner! If you know someone who specialises in a streak-free finish, send them my way!

Civic Proframe lives on!! Always darkest before dawn it would seem, a last minute inquiry while we were busy scheduling demolition of the shop fit out has evolved into a fully fledged transfer of Civic Proframe into new hands, Jo's hands to be specific. While she's is a new face to all our regulars Jo boasts extensive experience managing a framing business in Sydney and is a terrific candidate to keep the Proframe legacy of the last few decades alive. May take a week or two to settle into normal turn around times and you'll see some familiar faces for a month or two while we help Jo settle in, but instead of boarding up the doors next week it will be business as usual under new leadership with perhaps a short break for redecorating. Feel free to drop in and say hi, Jo will be more than happy to meet all your custom framing needs with the same quality and value service we've always been known for.

the final countdown! As previously mentioned, we're heading out to pasture and closing the doors after decades of finding the perfect frame for thousands of artworks, photos, and assorted momentos and memorabilia! Film lab is closed and all our gear heading out to Photo Access, no more custom jobs unless we can do it with materials on hand in shop - which will be discounted 30% and all retail frames on the shelf are Half Price, also reductions on selected gallery pieces .from now till the end of June when we say goodbye.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!!

Having no luck finding a torch bearer to carry on the Proframe legacy, we've made the tough call to pull the plug and wrap up business at the end of financial year! It's sad to see the doors shut on what's been a much loved Canberra institution for decades, but its time for the current team to move on, (some of us out to pasture!)

Still time to get some awesome framing done though, we're taking custom orders till the end of May, through June we'll mostly be installing into ready mades and perhaps making up a few simple custom jobs with what materials we have left on hand. Film lab will be running till mid June.

Huge thanks to all our regulars who've made the journey so much fun over the years!

Hi, just a heads up we're taking a little school holiday break from Easter to Anzac Day weekend, this Thursday 17th will be our last day until after the Anzac long weekend, ie. we'll return Tuesday 29th. Hope to see you when we return, winter gets a bit quiet so turn around times will be fast and there'll be some discount on in stock (in shop) materials to help clear house for EOFY stocktake. Finally, After 15 years at the helm here I'm looking to retire and if we don't find someone suitable to pass the torch to it could be the last year for Proframe so if you have any framing you've been putting off don't hesitate any longer! Cheers.

Heads up we will be closed tomorrow (Saturday 23rd November) due to unavoidable circumstances, but back to business as usual on Tuesday. Last day of trading for the year will be Friday 20th December, returning on 7th January in the new year.

Its been a quite Christmas season for us so we've been able to work on filling the gallery space, with new prints going in almost daily. If you are a fan of the Street Fighter triptych we have in the gallery you'll probably love this four piece pokemon set also by Jed Henry, so come on down and check it and all the other new pieces out!

A bit quiet lately on the custom framing front so we've had fun buying some cool prints to frame up and pop in the gallery, well actually we've been sitting on these prints for a while trying to work out the perfect colour matting and frame combos, just Mario to go... but then we have another big Spirited Away piece and a swarth of new Jed Henry woodblock style pokemon prints landing soon as well! Come by check them out, available to purchase or just inspire you to invest in creative framing for any artwork you have tucked away that need to get up on the wall...

Its Mucha ado about framing of late, with the Alphonse Mucha exhibition up at the NSW Gallery until September we've seen a lot of Much prints come of the table lately and have even been inspired to dress up a few to put into our own little gallery corner ! Its a quiet winter for us, so turn around times for custom framing are the quickest they've been for a long time and we've also been running a little "Framers Choice" stocktake sale of sorts whereby if you have a piece you really want to get on the wall and trust our judgment we'll use on our on hand materials to frame your piece at a 30% discount on the normal custom framing price. (Also we continue to process colour 35mm film in house twice a week)

Hi, apologies for the lack of posts, been playing catch up since xmas, good news is we're very much on top of things now and turn around times for custom framing are back to normal at two to three weeks for most pieces and we have an expedited service available utilizing in stock moldings. We've even found time to start to address our neglected gallery space, having recently hung a range of prints from our in house artist Madeline Ward, many of which are inspired from her time living and working in Japan, and keeping with the Japanese theme this morning we've been working on this getting the Princess Mononoke piece into the gallery, having double framed it in textured bright frame inner and wider beech outer frame. Also YES we are still processing colour 35mm and 120 Film in house (about twice a week), so if you need film processed and don't want to wait for weeks come and see us.

Its the final countdown! Heads up tomorrow (15th) is the last film run of the the year, once we turn the machines off at lunchtime tomorrow we won't be powering up again to we return in Mid January.

Final day trading for 2023 is FRIDAY 22nd December, we will return WEDNESDAY 10th January.

Please try to collect any completed framing or processed films that are sitting here before then, so many uncollected films sitting here we may have to purge at some point.
