UPCYCLING ♻️ is what we are truly passionate about. We're putting in the time and effort to collect used shirts and blankets, put it all through our 4-step cleaning process, pop out buttons and snip collars and cuffs, then finally transform one persons 'trash' into a beautiful and practical product with a new life. We do all of this instead of buying yards of perfect, easy to handle new fabric so we can do our bit to raise awareness about the massive amounts of waste and carbon emissions created by the fashion industry.

We’ve been offline for a bit taking a moment to catch up on this thing we call 2020 🤷‍♀️ and I've been slack on the photos of our Upcycled Face Masks that have been selling well at our local retailer...but we'll soon get up some photos of our Upcycled Oven Mitts and Upcycled Shopper Bags!

COMING SOON: Our Oven Mitts are made completely out of locally sourced repurposed materials and make perfect gifts for Christmas or just because!

After putting everything through our 4-step cleaning process, we have subtly quilted men's shirts (outer) with two layers of woolen blankets (wadding) to keep your hands safe when you're busy making cookies 🍪, meringues🧁, roasts 🥕🍖and casseroles 🍲 for your loved ones. The handy loop means you can show the mitts off even when you aren't baking! When things get messy, just chuck 'em in the washing machine!

While we are busy getting the branding and packaging finalised, we will take pre-orders through DM. Please note that we can only make approximately 4 pairs of mitts from one shirt, so if you spot a colour or pattern you like we recommend you get in fast! More details on how to get your hands on these soon!

FAQ: How do you make sure your fabrics are clean before upcycling them? 🙋‍♀️

We have a very stringent cleaning process! All our materials are put through 2 cycles of wash in 75 degree water with a different antibacterial detergent each time. Once air dried, the materials are then steam ironed and then set aside to rest for 1 week before we repurpose them into new products and then made available to the public. More heavy duty fabrics (such as the wooden blankets we are planning to use for quilted items) go through an additional soaking in diluted bleach at the beginning of the process.

What about COVID-19?🙋‍♀️

A recent study observed COVID-19 surviving UP TO 72 hours on hard materials like plastic and stainless steel. It’s survivability on soft materials like fabric would not be this long. Although it is very unlikely we are working with materials that have come in contact with COVID-19, our cleaning process is not only compliant with the CDC’s official advice on disinfecting fabrics but goes many cautious steps further. It is so important to us that people feel safe and comfortable using upcycled and eco-friendly products!
