Iv been on a journey with macrame... my very first memory of it was learning to make a key ring at school in art class with Mrs Stanton, I was about 8yrs old. I gave it to my James for Fathers day and I remember how proud and amazed he was of it! Later, when I was about 12 I learnt through books how to make friendship bracelets, little did I know at the time that this was mini macrame! When I was much older I remembered that very first key ring I made and I wanted to learn how to do it again but I didn't know what it was called. Suddenly boho was all the rage and I saw macrame creations in styled photos etc and I'd be like, omg that's the thing! That's what I want to learn to make! what is it called?! I dont remember where, when or how? But I discovered it was called macrame but at the time there wasn't anything like that online that I could find, to learn from. Then in 2016 I was going to get married the following year, and so much boho inspo was everywhere so I decided I was going to make my own macrame arch to be married under! So the search was on, once again find out how to do these knots! It was so much easier to find how to this time! Since then I have created many hanging pot plant holders and wall decor, and not many key rings! And more recently I have been creating things that can be of use for the home like produce nets, pods and guitar/ukulele holders! And if you've read this far I have some exciting news! My work will be showcased and sold in a local store specialising in local art and homemade goods! So very grateful and so very excited in what is to come from here💞 I have even now made an instagram page for my macrame and the store you can visit is I believe they will be opening their doors this week 🤩
