When you catch a pest fish, don't throw it back 🐟🐠 The latest South West Freshwater Angling Survey shows one in five redfin perch caught in 2024/25 was released, despite the fish being a threat to other species in the waterway.

Department of Fisheries Management Officer Aaron Moses said he would like to see fishers play a bigger role removing redfin perch from our dams and rivers.

"They're actually great to eat," he said

"Even if you don't want to eat them, please humanely dispatch them and dispose of them appropriately and you'll be doing a lot of good for our marron which is an iconic species in the South West."

The data showed redfin perch made up about 77% of the total freshwater catch.

**Update**

Unfortunately the time had come. We have absorbed a few Auspost price increases but we eventually had to up the price of shipping. These increases have come into effect as of now.
We hate to do it but unfortunately postage costs aren’t paid with hopes and best wishes.

Not huge but I think he has “little fish syndrome”. Was an angry little sucker. Smoked the Scout45 on a slow roll over a log. 👌🏼

Had a spare few minutes on a family trip to Honeymoon Pool. These Trout are notorious for being difficult to catch. After a follow from a larger Brown Trout I got a cast in right behind a small fast flowing area of water and this thick little Rainbow jumped on. Such a beautiful fish to catch. The Ghost Rainbow Trout Scout45 doing the job.

After getting home from an afternoon at the beach with our family, then seeing what has happened in Bondi it hit home a little harder than usual. Our heart goes out to those families who have lost loved ones today. Those who went to the beach, like we did, but never made it home. 😔

Please no negativity on this post. This is very much a “if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it” kind of thing.
