So picture this.. me sitting in my lounge room, taking on the phone in the evening..and as I look up and across suddenly this image appears on my Chris Hurst Girlie Pop painting. Talk about getting the instant heeby jeebies.. and it only appears on a side angle. Full on, the background is black. The energy has gone from fun and feminine to dark and malevolent.. far out. I love Chris’s paintings but some of her paintings do tend to have a dark side. One of her “ Alice in Wonderland ” series is hanging in Cha Cha Chocolate .. but this is dark on a whole new level.. I need to consider my options here..any thoughts?? I really don’t think this was a planned concept, but it is what it is..🫣

Colour to me is sparkle and joy.. I guess I’m not a beige kinda girl in anyway, shape or form..abit cushion-obsessed maybe..😜80’s German cotton ( flower pots), 70’s Scandinavian hand-blocked cotton and lime dots, on a 30’s English Sanderson linen cover..a marriage made in Heaven..

Some Australian floral linen, 40’s Mississippi Plantation scenes, and a vintage French linen tea towel. The reverse is a whole new story.. 40’s Hollywood roses with a hit of raspberry Ric Rac braid. Invisible zip and it’s done..

A new tote made from linen samples and treasures hidden away in my stash..little pieces from France, Australian flora, a Mid-century piece from Sweden, an Hawaiian 50’s Tiki hut, and a piece of 40’s Russian roses.. magic sewn in from around the world..very unique to be sure..😎👵🏻🦄
