Finally got around to splitting a small amount of the firewood from the Christmas night tornado.

Crazy to think this stacks only approximately 50% of the splitable sized timber that we needed to cut through just to use our driveway.

It's been a hot minute since I've posted anything, and that's for good reason! This last 6 months have been working around the property and renovating once our tennants moved out.

Yesterday I finally got to trial the trusty Husqvana TS354 out again to do a well overdue mow. Between the recent tornado, and insane amounts of rain we had, the process was a little on the hectic side.

Naturally I ended up sliding sideways into a gully and getting the Husky bogged, no amounts of self-recovery would get it to budge. Thankfully the cruiser came to the rescue and got the mower out, unsurprisingly the cruiser wanted to slide down the embankment too.

Turns out, all the time I thought I was fourbying for the fun of it, I was actually just training to mow my eventual yard.

None the less, when you get bogged 30m from your house it's important to only use the best products. Shout out to , , and for saving the day yet again.

We've finally had the opportunity to get the Cruiser out and about yesterday. Was lovely to be able to hit a dirt road and just hang about with some nature.

The pups loved each and every moment of it too 😍

The three amigo's 😅

It was great to back out in the bush over the weekend, after a few long months of the big rig being parked up due to swapping out the turbo in my spare time.

This Easter we swapped the mud at Levuka 4x4 Park, for insane winds at Gordon Country, a break in long standing tradition. There wasn't any hectic fourbying, spraying mud or putting on a show for crowds of people, instead this year was purely about spending quality down time with friends and family, and that's exactly what we did.

This photo is of three totally different rigs, owned by three cousins who all have the same passion for the outdoors. As much as I love solo adventuring, there's something special about being out campin with family, and even moreso when those who can't physically camp out, make the effort to come for a day trip to visit.

Easter Sunday this year was spent with 4 generations sitting around a camp fire while everyone caught up, had a laugh and watched the newest generation play and learn for hours on end. The only person missing from the equation being my late father, and Gordon Country having special meaning to me being the last 4x4 tracks he got the opportunity to drive on with me sitting in the passenger seat. I tell you what, climbing those hills in a 80 series is so much more comfortable than his old 60 series, who would have though coils were comfier than leaf springs!

Keep an eye out for some stunning scenery shots over the next few days.

For those following along, part of the intent behind the name change was to open myself up to share the different adventures I go on. Instead of purely focussing on 4x4ing, we'll now share a wider variety of my travels, sharing hidden spots from all around.

These shots are from my recent travels around Tassie. I can confirm hiking in the snow is siiick.

'Sooo, what's the plan Dad?'I'm not sure who like heading out on the tracks more, me or Biggie? 🤷‍♂️

I loved this little section of Track 5 at Swan Gully, nice little technical section where we needed to decend through this rut while trying to keep as level and straight as possible. I got caught out with the front auto locker unfortunately, causing me to not have the cleanest of drives. None the less, it was amazing to be out on the tracks in this big rig again!

Watch out for 3 key moments in this clip:
1. Front auto locker locking up (when my wheels slip and flick towards the drivers side). Yes this is why people suggest selectable lockers in the front.
2. When my tyres munched the flair (lol).
3. When the locker releases after reversing and the wheels visibly become 'free' to turn.

Shout out to Nic for his spotting throughout the day, solid work from someone who hadn't driven anything nearly as technical as we had that day. Couldn't have done better!

Further shout out to Bree for filming throughout the day.

P.S. How's the power steering whine! I should probably get onto rebuilding that!

The classic 'how do we get out of this one?' stance. 😅

Track 4 at Swan Gully certainly isn't for the faint hearted, with a cliff edge on one side, a bank on the other and a number of rock faces/ steps the whole way up, there isn't any option to turn back!

In these photo's you'll find Nic's BT50 momentarily wedged in between a rock and a hard place. With some serious packing and use of recovery tracks we got up this one without damage 👌🏻

New year, New me? Something like that!

Introducing Distracted Adventures, our new, but much better suited business name! Flexible 4wd Solutions has served me well over the past 6 years, but the times have changed and with the name being a tongue-twisting mouthful, I decided it was time for an upgrade!

I've been brainstorming idea's for a new name for the business for a number of years now, however hadn't managed to settle on one that fit the market along with my lifestyle, and my desire to expand upon the page into the future.

This name change encompasses many aspects of my lifestyle, as a person with ADHD I'm extraordinarily distractible and often overly excited. My life's an adventure on all fronts, and the jokes about me looking like a Meerkat as I drive through the bush led me down the garden path to land on Distracted Adventures.

Make sure to keep an eye out for updated merchandise, stickers and soon enough, a website to suit. Until then, please don't forget to purchase your recovery gear and most things 4x4 related simply by messaging us, or by jumping onto our eBay store.
