As we look back on 2025, the whole Pinnacle team wants to sincerely thank you for climbing, adventuring, and shopping locally with a small business this year. Cost-of-living pressures made it a tricky year for many, so your support meant the world to us. In return, we love supporting the local climbing scene and watching our community grow stronger every year. Here’s a peek at what we got up to in 2025…
We kicked the year off with a bang - surviving the cyclone in March, and shortly after, the Seima Safety team replaced the original 77 U-bolts at Kangaroo Point with 145 stainless steel U-bolts.
We teamed up with 9Degrees, ACAQ, and Clean Up Australia to clean up Cedar Creek. Thanks to our amazing volunteers, we helped care for this beautiful outdoor space, then wrapped up the day with a bouldering safety demo led by our guide Sally.
We were fortunate to take many new climbers and abseilers outdoors this year. Having worked with many larger groups this year meant plenty of firsts for newcomers - new skills learned, nerves overcome, and big smiles at the bottom of the rope.
This year also saw our instructors step into new territory, delivering a range of workshops for the first time, helping climbers with new skills like anchors, trad placement, and risk management.
We had the opportunity to support a number of competitions with the QUT Cliffhangers, UQMC, The Gap SHS, and SCQ. These comps are all about building community and keeping the next wave of climbers psyched to push the sport further.
Working with ACAQ, we helped Toohey Forest gain recognition as an official designated bouldering area for Brisbane, then celebrated by hosting a community bouldering day.
Later in the year, we supported several climbing film screenings, including the Adventure Reels Film Tour, where we taught and tied Monkey Fist knots for those up for the challenge.
Our biggest recent change was moving to Kelvin Grove. The new space is bigger and better, allowing our sister company Seima Safety to work even more efficiently on installations, inspections, and rigging at height.
May 2026 bring plenty of big sends, good vibes, and safe climbs. Stay safe and keep crushing it! 👊
