It's not uncommon for there to be a weight differential between the climber and their belayer — and Edelrid’s latest assisted braking device, the Edelrid Ohmega, is designed to help address exactly that. The short film "The Assistant" follows Tommy Caldwell as he’s recruited by Mélissa Le Nevé—not as a climber, but as a belayer. When she hands him the OHMEGA, his mission to spread the message begins. A quick watch, and a cheeky laugh.

We've been busy in the background and we're super excited to announce that our sister company Seima Safety is an authorised Perfect Descent Auto Belay Factory Recertification Centre.

Our team completed training provided by the President of C3 Manufacturing themselves, and have been busy getting units serviced and back on the walls of climbing centres throughout Australia. Of special note, Sally Paczkowski is now one of three women in the world who are Perfect Descent technicians. Don't forget to give her a crisp high five when you see her next!

Looking for somewhere new to climb without the crowds? Tucked away on the southern side of Mount Beerwah, Wayne’s World might just be SEQ’s most underrated sport climbing crag.

With fully bolted routes ranging from grades 10–22, this crag offers fun, feature-rich climbing on high-quality rock. Expect single pitches from 14–32m, a handful of longer options, and even a couple of trad lines for those keen to mix it up. Even better, the wall stays in the shade from mid-March through to early October—perfect for cooler sessions.

So why isn’t it packed? Historically, access was rough and the original hardware left a lot to be desired. But that’s all changed. Read more via the link to the blog below.

Ever get shut down on a “warm-up” and wonder why grades hurt so much?

Our latest blog dives into ageing as a climber, getting sandbagged, ditching the ego, and why sometimes the best call is to just top rope it and keep having fun. Less chasing numbers, more time on the rock.

If you care about climbing for the long haul (and really hate sandbags), this one’s for you.

As we look back on 2025, the whole Pinnacle team wants to sincerely thank you for climbing, adventuring, and shopping locally with a small business this year. Cost-of-living pressures made it a tricky year for many, so your support meant the world to us. In return, we love supporting the local climbing scene and watching our community grow stronger every year. Here’s a peek at what we got up to in 2025…

We kicked the year off with a bang - surviving the cyclone in March, and shortly after, the Seima Safety team replaced the original 77 U-bolts at Kangaroo Point with 145 stainless steel U-bolts.

We teamed up with 9Degrees, ACAQ, and Clean Up Australia to clean up Cedar Creek. Thanks to our amazing volunteers, we helped care for this beautiful outdoor space, then wrapped up the day with a bouldering safety demo led by our guide Sally.

We were fortunate to take many new climbers and abseilers outdoors this year. Having worked with many larger groups this year meant plenty of firsts for newcomers - new skills learned, nerves overcome, and big smiles at the bottom of the rope.

This year also saw our instructors step into new territory, delivering a range of workshops for the first time, helping climbers with new skills like anchors, trad placement, and risk management.

We had the opportunity to support a number of competitions with the QUT Cliffhangers, UQMC, The Gap SHS, and SCQ. These comps are all about building community and keeping the next wave of climbers psyched to push the sport further.

Working with ACAQ, we helped Toohey Forest gain recognition as an official designated bouldering area for Brisbane, then celebrated by hosting a community bouldering day.

Later in the year, we supported several climbing film screenings, including the Adventure Reels Film Tour, where we taught and tied Monkey Fist knots for those up for the challenge.

Our biggest recent change was moving to Kelvin Grove. The new space is bigger and better, allowing our sister company Seima Safety to work even more efficiently on installations, inspections, and rigging at height.

May 2026 bring plenty of big sends, good vibes, and safe climbs. Stay safe and keep crushing it! 👊

Recovery isn’t always about pushing harder.
Sometimes it’s about slowing down, listening to your body, and giving yourself permission to heal — physically and mentally.

Our ambassador Rani shares a personal perspective on post-surgery recovery and why taking a different approach made all the difference.
