With the ban on events with over 500 attendees, I unfortunately have to cancel the Recycled Textile Market on Sunday 29th March.
My biggest concern in making this decision is the stallholders and attendees of RTM, who are predominantly older women, or women who care for, or have regular contact with elderly people who are vulnerable to infection. And, those who work with children in schools.
I'm so sorry to everyone for having to cancel RTM. I know how much work has gone into it for many of you, and how emotionally invested you are in the event. I know many of you have worked hard, making additional products and that takes time and energy, and time away from family and other interests in some cases.
I will be refunding all stall and site fees and everyone has received an email with further details. Workshops will be cancelled and refunded via eventbrite.
As you all know, my priority with RTM is to get our community together; those of us who have sewn most of our lives, and those who are only just beginning. To be with like-minded people, in the beautiful space of Morningside School of Arts, with people admiring our work and understanding how much effort goes into creating it. The happy vibe, the supportive environment, the mutual understanding of our fabric habits. Meeting new people and running into old friends. This is what I am going to miss, and I'm sure many of you will too. This testimonial from the first market says it all:
"Wonderful hall full of happy like minded people...Please continue to have these."
Thanks in advance for your support and understanding.
