Brisbane City Council - of the Bulimba Barracks - https://heritage.brisbane.qld.gov.au/heritage-places/444 .. The Apollo candle factory was built in 1880 near the present Apollo Road. The yard covered about 25 acres and the factory produced candles, soap and oil. It amalgamated with J. Kitchen & Sons of South Brisbane in 1885 and continued production well into the twentieth century, despite being inundated by floods and suffering a fire in 1909. ..
