Thanks for ya'll support throughout the year from us here at Garage Sounds - it's been our first full calendar year of existence with a Meatloaf average of 2 out of 3 weekends involving some sort of Market/Fair/Show - holy toledo!

We spent a week packing the whole shop down in anticipation of having to move out - but thanks to some clever negotiating, we secured a new lease until January 2027 and have just unpacked it all and have made some improvements!

We will still be out and about at all the usual Record fairs and Markets, but we will also be going 'on the line' this year, which is where you'll be able to peruse our fantastic wares from the comfort and safety of your lounge room/bus terminal and/or public toilet!

I know it's been a long time coming as we 'get with the times' but we live an old school game, and our understanding of really 'getting with the times' would involve space-jacking Katy Perry's next space trip...and colonising Pluto!

It's been a monstrous year and we're gonna head down to our local market, mount Mt Gravatt Markets tomorrow for the last time this year , with a truckload of dodgy chrissy related muzak and then we'll be taking a well earned break until early next year - enjoy!

We're off to the Nundah Farmers Markets from 4pm till late today for their twilight chrissy gig and we've got a heap of dodgy chrissy records and CD's for y'all - if you're up on the northside and you haven't been to this night market yet, get down! There's 2 stages of live music - one is actually inside the bar, it makes for a great pop-up live music venue - I hear the English Cricket team maybe joining us later on, as their game will be over pretty soon 🤣🤣

Well it's been a quiet few weeks here at Garage Sounds, as we've been preparing to move again, and this is the current state of our skeleton shop being mothballed. But alas, with some tactful negotiations, it looks like we might be able to stay on for another 12 months - woohoo! We'll keep ya'll updated with any further developments and let ya'll know once we're back up and running as a real record store again!

This is the big one this Saturday at The 4ZZZ 50th Birthday Market Day, located, coincidentally, opposite the Tower Mill Motel, which had the town protest against the Springboks Rugby Union Tour in '71 - which is the flashpoint that resulted in the need for better communication amongst protestors. Thanks to apartheid, Joh and the strong arm of the Queensland Police Force, 4ZZZ may never have been conceived - haven't we all come along way!

Such a site for sore eyes... so long we have waited for that market day mud map to awaken us to the joys of an impending 4ZZZ initiated explosion of sound and colour. We may not rekindle the fires of the past but we will most certainly dwell in the emotional tonalities of our spring! Welcome to ZED50!!!
