Hi all,

1. 1st April 2024 is the prosed date for the new regulation admendments to be passed through the parliment.

2. There is a proposed 15 months transition period from 1st April 2024 which is by 1st July 2025

3. Please note! the fine prints of the new legislation is not out yet! how much will ni****ne potency be capped at? Will the flavour bans take affect? These 2 reminds unknown.

I like to thank all my regulars for being as patient as Uncle Jack is, i am glade I have stopped many of my regulars from panic buying and hoping to look after you guys until day dot!

Please refer to below for evidence from Mark Butler's press conference:

"Mark Butler: ...........This legislation, as I said, is in draft form being published as an exposure draft today along with a consultation paper, the consultation period will be open between now and the middle of July for 6 weeks. There'll be further consultation undertaken after that time, probably around August or September, particularly around the sort of intention that we have for the labelling on individual ci******es, the updates for graphic images, and pack warnings as well. We're currently in the field undertaking market research about those, so there will be a further period of consultation about those things. I intend to introduce this legislation into the Parliament later this year. The legislation that was put in place by former Minister Roxon had a sunset date of 1 April 2024. So, if we do not pass replacement legislation, the current suite of regulations around plain packaging, graphic warnings and the like, will lapse on the first of April. We intend to get this legislation passed by the parliament by 1 April 2024. There will be a transition period of 15 months – the new regulations and requirements that will be contained in the updated suite of reforms will come into effect on 1 July 2025. Hi all,

Quick update as promissed! Please find attached "Public Health (To***co and Other Products) Bill 2023 - Exposure Draft" released 31/05/2023.

After reading through the document, my findings are: there's no evidence of proposed e-cig ban written into the paper. E-cig related topics in the document is focused on advertisements & sponsorships. This document is more focused on to***co products. If we refer to Chapter 1, section 9, division 2, 9.4, it clearly states "A to***co product does not include an e-cigarette product (even if the e-cigarette product contains to***co)...."

This doesn't say the proposed changes will not be added. This is just my take on this draft document. Please have a read if time allows and let me know what you think as my interpretation could be wrong!

V**e update from today's budget:

• stop the import of non-prescription vapes
(Stopping the personal importation scheme for ni****ne)

• increase the minimum quality standards for vapes including by restricting flavours, colours, and other ingredients
(Plain packaging with limited flavour - not sure what flavours will be allowed just yet)

• require pharmaceutical-like packaging
(Plain packing to satisfy TGO110 requirement)

• reduce the allowed ni****ne concentrations and volumes
(High concentration DIY ni****ne will not be available at 100mg/ml and amount allowed for individual will be capped)

• ban all single use, disposable vapes.
(Good bye disposables)

Please note! The above is an intepretation of uncle Jack's reading from todays budget meeting.

Do not panic buy hardwares (mods, tanks, pods, coils, batteries, cottons, etc.......). They will continue to be available in the future.
