To all of my lovely customers,
Thank you for all of your enquires about the sale items in the closing sale.

As you can imagine, it has been extremely busy in the shop with the sale.
If I haven’t gotten back to you yet, that is why and I apologise for that.
In order to make it easier for you and me, can I please request that:

Any questions you have are sent to me by DM or by text message ONLY.
My number is 0417140364. You can also call me directly for a much quicker response. I can always call you back if I’m busy.
Please do not ask questions in the comments of a post as I will not see them quickly.
Send me a pic of what you are asking about if applicable.

As sizing is complicated and there are different versions of what that means, please provide me with bust, waist and hip measurements in INCHES for me to help you more quickly.

Any general questions regarding bulk lots or ‘ do you have any formal dresses in a size 10?’ (for example) , please contact me after I close to see what I have left.
As much as I’d love to help you, I simply do not have time to facilitate this request if you’re not able to come to the shop.
I will do my best though.

THE VINTAGE DRAWER IS CLOSING

To all of my dear customers and followers,
I will be closing my shop with the last day of trading being Saturday 29th August.
It’s time for a change for me.
I have been wanting to pursue and reignite another passion so have been working on that behind the scenes.
That will be revealed very soon but is not related to vintage clothing. I am very excited about it and it has given me a whole new lease of life.
My new venture will allow me a more balanced lifestyle still doing something I love.
At this point in my life, I need and want that.
I am sure to keep dabbling in vintage clothing down the track but for now, I need to give my full attention to my new business.
Thank you to everyone who has supported The Vintage Drawer over these past 15 years.
It’s been a complete joy and I’m immensely grateful!
I am feeling very positive about the future and am happy with my decision to close.
It feels completely right.
My social media pages will continue so please keep in touch if you like.
There will be happenings in The Vintage Drawer world in the future.

DESCRIPTION :
This stunning and classic 80s Carla Zampatti evening dress has just arrived.
Here’s a chance to wear a piece of Australian fashion history by one of Australia’s most iconic and successful designers, Carla Zampatti.

This stunning 80s dress moves well into 2026 as it is so timeless and classic.
The lace is lovely ( not itchy) and the skirt and part of the bodice is lined.
There is an elasticised waist which is comfortable and gives flexibility to the size to a degree.
There is a tie belt.
There is no entry as such. No zip but the elasticised waist and plunging neckline will ensure it goes on easily.
Depending on the height of the wearer, it could look long or on a taller person, it could be a waltz length.

CONDITION:
Excellent! No issues at all.

MEASUREMENTS AND SIZE:
The size is flexible to a degree but I would say that it would work best on anyone from a size 6- 10.
It’s slightly tricky.
Bust: up to 36”
Waist: up to 30” with the stretch of the elastic.
Shoulder - waist : 15.5”
Total length: 53”
Hips: 56”
Displayed on a size 6 mannequin
Mannequin measures:
Bust 32”
Waist: 25.5”

For those of you who know this brand of shoe, you will know how comfortable they are and what a great price these are.
I’m selling them on consignment and the consignee has approved this reduction.
In overall great condition with just a little bit of gentle wear but nothing significant.
I just sold a green pair so these won’t last long.

I’M PRESENT. I’M HERE.

It’s been quite a while since I posted anything so I sincerely apologise.
I’ve just been through a very challenging time assisting my lovely mum through a health issue.
She is doing well and I’m happily back in my shop catching up and focusing on The Vintage Drawer , my much loved shop.
Here’s a taste of some fabulous new pieces just in!
I’m also excited to slowly start introducing some small vintage and antique homewares into the store.
I don’t have a large space so vintage clothing will always be my main focus but with a sprinkling of eclectic homewares to further delight the senses, both yours and mine!

I’M TAKING A BREAK

I will be taking my annual Winter break this week to rest, restore and recharge
after a very stressful and exhausting few weeks involving a family medical emergency.
The Vintage Drawer will be closed from
Monday 20th - Friday 24th July 2026.
We will reopen on Saturday 25th July at 10am.

I thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you soon after I take this much needed time off.

HERE’S ONE FOR THE 50s LOVERS AND PURISTS.
This stunning cotton velvet cocktail dress has just arrived in store and currently graces my shop window.
No matter the current trend, you can’t beat the feminine, classic and elegant look of the 1950s.
The perfect vintage Winter glamour dress.
Size: 10-12
Bust: 36-38”
Waist: 29-30”

Great condition with some very minor marks typical of velvet but nothing major at all.
Photos do not do this dress justice.

What’s happening in store is fun and eclectic vintage worn in a modern context.
Thank you to my two models, Matilda & Katie.
Matilda is my casual assistant and Katie(last two pics) is a delightful lady that I met in the shop last week.
I love the fact that she is wearing a 70s emerald green Fletcher Jones wool skirt ( sold ) with a late 30s blue and old gold robe( sold) with an Akubra hat( borrowed from her friend)
Interesting, unique, unapologetic ways of wearing vintage.
No rules.
