Platypus Month at Birds, Bees & Me

August is Platypus Month, so we thought we'd share our favourite platypus piece currently in the shop.

This gorgeous handmade platypus quilt is hanging in our window at the moment, but we've also popped it on a double bed so you can see just how lovely it looks.

Measuring 210cm x 210cm, it would also fit beautifully on a queen-size bed.

Driveway Market – Saturday 22 August

There's something for everyone at our August Driveway Market! 🐝

Our next Birds, Bees & Me Driveway Market is coming up on Saturday, 22 August, 10am–2pm and we're bringing together another fabulous mix of local makers, creators and small businesses.

Here's just a taste of what you'll find:

Bette would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sent her birthday wishes for her 80th birthday. 💜

And while we're saying thank you... thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes for Birds, Bees & Me too! We can't quite believe our little shop has now been open for three years. 🐝

It's been a pretty special week celebrating both milestones and we're so grateful for the wonderful support and friendship we've received from our customers and the Boorowa community and further away.

Did you know August is Platypus Month?

We're celebrating these amazing and uniquely Australian creatures throughout August and our platypus mural is the perfect reminder of just how special they are.

Did you know that a platypus doesn't have a stomach? Instead, its oesophagus connects directly to its intestines, making it one of the few mammals without a true stomach!

If you're out and about in the Hilltops, keep your eyes on our waterways—you never know when you might be lucky enough to spot one. 💙 Or stop in Boorowa and see the mural near our shop!

Today we're celebrating not one, but two wonderful milestones.

It's hard to believe that what began as a little six-week pop-up shop has grown into three amazing years. Along the way we've met so many wonderful people, shared countless laughs and conversations and watched our little shop become part of this wonderful community.

Every morning on our walk, we stop to say hello to this handsome fellow. Bob is always waiting patiently... especially if he thinks there might be a carrot or two on offer! And there is... 🥕
