The Greatest Team of All is your definitive, blow-by-blow account of the Geelong Football Club team’s rise to win the AFL 2022 Premiership. Revealing, insightful and action-packed, this book will take you through the 2022 season round-by round with award-winning AFL correspondent and Geelong insider Scott Gullan.

After 11 years, a flurry of false starts, and naysayers at every turn, the Cats’ ascension to the top of the ladder and into finals was no easy task. With the grit, talent and aggression that a true Grand Final challenger needed, the Cats, led by record-breaking captain Joel Selwood, would not only need to battle through one of the most challenging and competitive finals series the game has seen in a very long time, but also turn the tide of public opinion that the team was too old and too slow.

But with thirteen wins on the trot as they entered finals, they would emerge as the team to beat.

Relive the lows to highs of this incredible AFL season to Grand Final victory with The Greatest Team of All, an official AFL book.

Return to #1 New York Times bestseller Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn world of Scadrial as its second era, which began with The Alloy of Law, comes to its earth-shattering conclusion in The Lost Metal.

For years, frontier lawman turned big-city senator Waxillium Ladrian has hunted the shadowy organization the Set - with his late uncle and his sister among their leaders - since they started kidnapping people with the power of Allomancy in their bloodlines. When Detective Marasi Colms and her partner Wayne find stockpiled weapons bound for the Outer City of Bilming, this opens a new lead. Conflict between Elendel and the Outer Cities only favors the Set, and their tendrils now reach to the Elendel Senate - whose corruption Wax and Steris have sought to expose - and Bilming is even more entangled.

After Wax discovers a new type of explosive that can unleash unprecedented destruction and realizes that the Set must already have it, an immortal kandra serving Scadrial's god reveals that Harmony's power is blocked in Bilming. That means the city has fallen under the influence of another god: Trell, worshipped by the Set. And Trell isn't the only factor at play from the larger Cosmere - Marasi is recruited by offworlders with strange abilities who claim their goal is to protect Scadrial . . . at any cost.

Wax must choose whether to set aside his rocky relationship with God and once again become the Sword that Harmony has groomed him to be. If no one steps forward to be the hero Scadrial needs, the planet and its millions of people will come to a sudden and calamitous ruin.

The third and final updated edition of David Attenborough’s classic Life trilogy. Life on Earth covered evolution, Living Planet , ecology, and now The Trials of Life tackles ethology, the study of how animals behave.
‘This is, quite simply, the best thing I’ve ever done.’ Sir David Attenborough on the TV series, The Trials of Life, upon which this book is based.

This is the third and last of Sir David’s great natural history books based on his TV series and competes his survey of the animal world that began with Life on Earth and continues with Living Planet.

In Life on Earth, Sir David showed how each group of animals evolved. In Living Planet he looked at the way they have adapted to the whole range of habitats in which they live. Now, in Trials of Life, he completes the story by revealing how animals behave – and why.

Delightful local author Jann Maree popped in to sign copies of her new memoir 'No Nervous Lady'.

It's a wonderful book and a great summer holiday read.
..

No Nervous Lady is more than the story of a young couple who try to solve their marriage problems by embarking on a tree change. It is also the personal story of a young woman, Jann, who is committed to the survival of her family and her relationship with the man she loves.

Set during a time of social and political change - the aftermath of the Vietnam War, the rising wave of new feminism, a growing conservation movement - this is the tale of a woman who is caught in an uncertain marriage during tumultuous upheavals in society. Jann is a woman of pioneering stock who, influenced by the ideas of the feminist movement, chooses to test her temperament by confronting the challenges of bush living.

No Nervous Lady is told against the backdrop of Jann and her husband building a mud-walled home with the earth and timber from their own bush property. Jann has hopes that their daily hard-working life and their efforts to be self-sufficient will re-bond them and provide new zest to their marriage. But is it ever that easy?

Such a journey - physically and emotionally! But, through it all, Jann's resilience and optimism shine through. No tale of woe here, but a story that will inspire and have you cheering at the end.

Look what's finally available in Australia!
I saw this recommended on Tiktok by a few fantasy lovers and fantasy writers, so overcame my assumption that I'd hate it and gave it a go.

Finished it in one day. I don't think I even got out of my pyjamas.

It was exactly what I needed - a lighthearted, comforting, feel good fantasy that somehow was also a page turner. I loved it.

It started out as a project for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in 2021, was then self-published (I believe? Correct me if I'm wrong) and did so well that the publishers understandably offered Travis a contract.

So if you've been on the fence about NaNoWriMo for a while, maybe give it a go? And give this a read in the meantime to inspire you.

High fantasy, low stakes – with a double-shot of coffee

After decades of raising hell, Viv the orc barbarian is finally hanging up her sword for good. Now, she sets her sights on a new dream – one that involves pulling more shots than punches. Armed with hope and a hard-earned secret, she plans to open the first coffee shop in Thune.

To build something that will last, Viv needs a new crew. She enlists a gruff hob builder shunned by humans, and a shy baker whose cinnamon rolls are to die for. Then there’s Tandri, a charming succubus who’s determined not to let anyone assume anything about her.

But Thune has a shady underbelly that keeps goading Viv to take up her sword once more. New enemies threaten her beloved coffee shop and ragtag team. And Viv’s adventuring past isn’t so eager to leave her behind – or the fabled piece of loot she took with her.

Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree is a cosy, heart-warming slice-of-life fantasy about found families and fresh starts – perfect for fans of TJ Klune, Katherine Addison and T. Kingfisher.

'The Work Wives' by Rachael Johns

How well do you really know the people you work with?

For work wives Debra and Quinn, it's a case of opposites attract. They are each other's lifelines as they navigate office politics and jobs that pay the bills but don't inspire them.

Outside work, they are also friends, but where Quinn is addicted to dating apps and desperate to find love, Deb has sworn off men. Although Deb is not close to her own mother, her teenage daughter is her life and there's nothing she wouldn't do to protect her. But Ramona has other ideas and is beginning to push boundaries.

Life becomes even more complicated by the arrival of a new man at the office. One woman is attracted to him, while the other hoped she'd never meet him again.

But when Deb, Quinn and Ramona are forced to choose between friends, love and family, the ramifications run deeper than they could ever have expected.

The latest novel by bestselling, ABIA award winning author Rachael Johns will make you laugh, cry and wonder what secrets your friends are keeping!
