Sorry about this, but it was my boxing day present and my personal best for a stocked Murray Cod. Just love these things. It came from Glen Lyon dam. Some day, may be if we are real good, we can fish for these in Wyaralong.

Happy Christmas and a great new year ever one! It looks like we will be having a meeting to discuss the MRC situation early in the new year. Fisheries, stockers, breeders, FASAQ and other interested parties. Do not know details yet, will keep you posted as more info available. At least something is happening and we need to keep the pressure on. May be you could write to the Newman and tell him . It,s great to boast about the new rules applying to south east Qld dams and getting better use out of them. What is going to happen now he has cut funds for fish stocking to just about nil. Hello! Mr Newman !!! Doh!!!!

Sad news Again. Received a message from Russel Manning (via Lloyd our secretary)Russel is the only other MRC breeder that was given a permit this year to breed MRC and to have brood stock. He announced he loss 90% of his MRC fingerlings . That means both the hatcheries (ONLY TWO) one private one public sort of. that where given permission to breed MRC fingerlings could not make it work this year. May be it would seam simple to give more breeders a chance and better odds. But I guess thats to simple a solution!

Bad News. Just received news from Russel Manning the only other hatchery to receive a permit to breed MRC has annouced that 90% of his MRC fingerlings have died. So no Cod again this year. I have penned an artical in Bush and Beach, comes out in Jan issue. Its about the MRC stocking dilema and the lack of real action in breeding MRC and the need may be for more breeding hatcheries to be involve. Let me have your feed back please.

Well as from tuesday this week the 8000 cod babies up and died. Who knows why. Its very devastating after growing them up and feeding them and helping Vince at the hatchery. Pretty pi**ed off, actualy!

There is one other breeder of Mary River Cod, Russel Manning and he has some, and our stocking group has an order with him for $15,000 dollars worth thats about a $1.50 each. He looks like he may be able to supply, if his do not go belly up as well. Ever body keep your fingers crossed!! My lot would have been free. Well their free now!! R.I.P. COD BABIES.

This our net designed to catch fingerlings or fry coming out of the breeding ponds during the final drain down. Works very well, but need's many hands to catch the baby's as they arrive down the shute and get them back to the hatchery to be separated from all the bugs such as back swimmers.
