One of the questions I’ve been asked a lot lately is, “What will you miss most?”
The answer isn’t the recipes.
One will be the messages from parents saying, “Can you take a picture and send it to Meg?”
Because those photos are never really about the food.
They’re about a child who was so proud of what they created that they wanted to share it. They’re about confidence, independence, curiosity, and the joy of saying, “Look what I can do!”
They are proof that the learning didn’t stop when class ended. It followed them home, into their lives outside our studio.
After 12 years, I’ve received hundreds of photos. Every single one has made me smile. Not because of the brownies, pasta, cupcakes, or desserts, but because behind each photo is a child who believed in themselves a little more than they did before.
And honestly, that’s been the greatest privilege of all. 🧑🍳🍴👩🍳💜
