After 15 fabulous years of ownership we have sold the shop.

It was necessary due to my health issues and I will dearly miss being behind the counter, chatting with all our beautiful customers and even posting on the FB page but a new journey awaits the Lovett’s now.

So as Paul and I (Mandy) bid you farewell I am delighted to let you know is the shop will be in very safe and capable hands.

Please welcome Sarah Morrow and her terrific team from The Book Warehouse as well as our beautiful and amazing Holly who will be staying on. There will be changes to the shop but you will always receive the great service you’re accustomed to.

Sarah has over 20 years of bookshop experience and the entire team are passionate book folk.

Ballina Book Shop will continue to thrive and be there for the community as it has been in the past.

Thank you all so much for your support, business wise and personally over all the years we’ve been there and especially recently, we’ve been blessed to be part of such a warm and loving community.

We have reopened!

Our current hours are from 10till3Monday to Friday.
9till 1 Saturday

Thankfully the recent flood only went over our floor but even so created an enormous amount of work and clean up. I’m not posting those pictures because we have all been through and seen so much this past week I’d rather show the outcome - which is our lovely shop back in action (albeit with a new funky industrial style concrete floor)!

This has all been achieved with the incredible help from some amazingly kind and generous family, friends, neighbours and total strangers.

Paul and Mandy would like to sincerely thank the following people;

Cherry street - Road is closed now but please people driving around town for a look PLEASE consider that the wave you create is pushing water into peoples businesses and homes

🏠 Please stay home

Council is urging all shire residents to stay at home.

There is an extreme volume of water across roadways throughout Ballina shire and surrounding areas. Many of these sections of water are difficult to identify over the road. SES are currently attending to a high volume of requests for assistance along with flood rescues.

Several local roads remain closed. Not all roads can be signposted but many have water over the road, so be aware of changing conditions and do not drive in flood waters.

Ballina CBD is also experiencing flooding due to today’s high tide.
