Now that the Ballarat Beard & Stache Competition is over and the winter weather is rolling in, it’s time to start taking care of your beard ❄️

All day long your beard is subjected to radical temperature changes, from hot to cold and back again.

Because it’s cold, you’re probably cranking up the heating at home, drying out the air and leaving your beard parched and crying out for moisture. Then you step outside and your beard is hit with freezing temperatures and harsh winds that strip away moisture, leaving it brittle and vulnerable.

For the past 10 years, the Ballarat Beard & Stache Competition has done something pretty special for the bearding community.

From first-timers to seasoned beard legends, it’s created a space where passion, creativity, and community all come together. We’ve seen friendships built, confidence grow, and some of the wildest and most impressive facial hair in the country take centre stage.

At Barber’s Choice, we’ve watched this event grow into something truly incredible. What started as a great comp has become a cornerstone of the Aussie bearding scene, and we’re proud to be part of it.
