DUDES, a big shout out to all previous and present outpost customers and friends, as you all know we closed down some weeks back and a big thanks to everyone who came to our final days. It’s been hard, however we must keep going and not dwell on the past rather take the time to mourn. I still have some stock and for those who know me I also have a personal huge collection of clothing and accessories some new with tags some used and some vintage all well looked after. I will be holding 1 day to clear out as much as possible as I believe it’s time to drill down to basics. It will be held comfort of strangers on Mair street in Ballarat Sunday 12th of December from 2pm to 5pm. All dead stock from the shop everything under $50 and I will also be selling some items from my personal collection.

DUDES, a big shout out to all previous and present outpost customers and friends, as you all know we closed down some weeks back and a big thanks to everyone who came to our final days. FILSON - RUGGED QUALITY FOR OVER 120 YEARS
Born in 1850, C. C. Filson inherited his father's pioneer spirit and love of the outdoors. After homesteading in Nebraska and roaming the country as a railroad conductor, he moved to the small city of Seattle, Washington in the 1890s.

Filson's timing couldn't have been better. By 1897, the Great Klondike Gold Rush was on, and thousands of fortune hunters were stampeding into Seattle, headed north. Armed with a strong work ethic, a reputation for honesty and several years' experience outfitting Pacific Northwest settlers and prospectors, C. C. Filson was ready to stake his claim to fame. Here is what he had to say in our 1914 catalog:

"To our customers: if a man is going North, he should come to us for his outfit, because we have obtained our ideas of what is best to wear in that country from the experience of the man from the North -- not merely one -- but hundreds of them. Our materials are the very best obtainable, for we know that the best is none too good and that quality is of vital importance. You can depend absolutely upon our goods both as to material and workmanship."

RRL label is Ralph Lauren’s venture in the world of heritage workwear and Americana style. Focussing on creating high-quality pieces that are steeped in history, RRL is naturally centered around denim, allowing the brand to resonate with vintage lovers and the raw denim community alike.

In 1993, Ralph Lauren created a completely separate brand to channel his Americana-inspired clothing, and thus, RRL was born. But this re-branding came with a new concept. With the untamed American countryside of his idyllic Colorado ranch as his stimulus, Ralph Lauren looked to the workwear worn by the gold rush miners and ranch hands of the mid- to late-1800s as well as the military garb of the American Civil War and World Wars, to inspire his new label.

As a result, RRL encapsulated the heritage of the American West. Leather boots and jackets, Navajo-print blankets, and of course, blue denim – raw and distressed – were just some of the key Americana elements of the RRL world.
