Plantable Christmas Card – “Merry Christmas from Maggie Island”
Celebrate the season with a card that grows into something beautiful. This handcrafted greeting is printed on A4 paper, folded to A5, featuring a festive impression of the Hoop Pine, a native tree found across Magnetic Island—standing tall as a symbol of resilience, renewal, and island heritage.
Beneath the tree, the front of the card proudly bears the message:
“Merry Christmas from Maggie Island.”
Created by Phill Stephenson, this card is more than a message—it’s a ceremonial offering. The back includes planting instructions and a note from the creator:
“In the hush between reef and rainforest, Banks stood aboard the Endeavour, seeds in hand. With a botanist’s hope and a sailor’s prayer, he cast them to the wind—trusting that some might find soil on Magnetic Island, should future ships need timber to mend their wounds.”
