From Air to Earth

This wing came from a cockatoo that was struck while crossing a road along its regular flight path to the coast.

The work reflects the movement from air to earth — from flight into stillness — and the quiet return that follows.

Copper flowers and vines emerge from the fracture, not to repair it, but to acknowledge what continues.

What ends in one form returns, changes, and becomes part of the earth again.

Many of my pieces found the souls they were meant for and I had the absolute joy of chatting, sharing stories, and connecting with so many beautiful souls.

I’ve got so much to add to the website at the moment — new pieces coming soon ✨

I’m especially loving how these captured spider webs look on the basalt stones with copper.

I’ve been taking small portions of webs from the same three orb weavers all summer, and they’ve been rebuilding them each time.

With two of the three having completed their duties to the next generation, these webs will be a lasting reminder.

Nature always creates the most incredible patterns 🕸️🖤

I woke up this morning to a fairly nasty message. I’m not sure why some people think it’s okay to attack someone they don’t know or make accusations that simply aren’t true.

The message accused me of using AI to create my photos — and it wasn’t said kindly.

For clarity, here’s a comparison of the edited photo and the original photo I took myself using a stand and timer. Anyone who knows me knows my hair IS actually blue…

I’ve recently been experimenting with a slightly different editing style for social media. Most of the photos on my website are the original, unedited versions — had the person taken the time to look.

Yes, I sometimes use the built-in AI tools on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok to assemble videos — but my photos themselves are real.

Rather than replying privately, I’ve chosen to address this publicly. If anyone has concerns about something I do, I’d prefer you speak to me openly rather than sending anonymous messages.
