I had to tell you about this one - the best way I can describe is it is a new genre I’m calling Weird Boy Fiction (please know this is one of the highest honours I could bestow on a book). I read it greedily. I laughed out loud. I want to read it again. I loved it. Nothing is for everyone, but this one may be for a lot of you!

Although we definitely don’t* judge a book by the cover, is a very important part of the book production process. Covers need to encapsulate a mood and entice you to pick the book up, to read the blurb, to take it home.

I’m generally curious about the differences between covers here and in the USA. (Usually we get the same cover as the UK - book rights are convoluted- maybe another post for another time…)

Some of these covers are fairly similar, but some are SO different (like Waiting on a Friend) as to change the vibe completely.

I’m curious, of these covers, do you have a favourite? Which ones are your favourite? Which ones would you pick up? Comment below! ⬇️

All of these titles were selected as they’ve got great reviews (some I’ve also read and have loved) and are available now.

*okay, I confess- I Have been known to judge a book by the cover…. Guilty as charged

Back again- three books that you might be interested in.

📚My Dear You by Rachel Khong - a short story collection with heart and bite (one of my books of the year)
📚Just Watch Me by Lior Torenberg - a sharp and pacey story about being a woman on the internet and trying to get by
📚The Endling by Key Jobe which almost defies description- but I give it my best go. A strange and enthralling literary debut!

Thanks for spending your time with me - I hope one of these books makes it to your TBR!
