Lama is a dedicated trauma therapist, specialising in Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy located at Workshop Village & Trauma Therapies 29a Jetty Road Brighton, SA 5048.
She approaches each client's journey with sensitivity, confidentiality and compassion, recognising that individuals may seek support following a recent traumatic event or after years of grappling with the effects of long-standing trauma. With extensive knowledge gained through providing therapy to clients spanning a range of trauma experiences, Lama has provided trauma therapy to clients of all ages, including some of the most vulnerable children.
There is no predetermined timeline for seeking help, and it is never too late to embark on the path to healing. Her approach places a strong emphasis on building a safe and nurturing therapeutic relationship, grounded in a deep understanding of the nervous system's responses to stress and trauma.
In addition to individual therapy, Lama offers Trauma-Sensitive-Yoga Group therapy sessions in Adelaide. She also contributes to Higher Education programs, imparting knowledge and competence to the next generation of trauma-informed Social Workers. Additionally, Lama provides remote corporate training on recognising trauma in the workplace and implementing trauma-informed approaches to human resources. Drawing from her diverse cultural background, Lama brings a rich perspective to her work.
Lama is a graduate of Flinders University, holding a Masters in Social Work, and is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. Committed to continuous learning and growth, she remains dedicated to supporting those affected by all forms of trauma, recognised in Lama being awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2023 to undertake an extensive study tour investigating innovative trauma approaches and trauma-informed systems in the UK, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, in line with the Churchill Fellowship motto of Learning Globally, Inspiring Locally.
Lama offers in-person sessions in Adelaide from Brighton, as well as online sessions, providing accessible support tailored to individual needs.
