One of the world’s oldest living fish species, the Australian Lungfish is often called a “living fossil” and has remained largely unchanged for millions of years. They are famous for their ability to breathe atmospheric air using a primitive lung.

✅ Scientific Name: Neoceratodus forsteri
✅ Current Size: Approx. 12cm
✅ Adult Size: Up to 1.5m+ and 40kg in exceptional specimens.
✅ Lifespan: Can live for many decades with proper care.
✅ Temperature: 20–28°C.
✅ pH Range: 6.5–8.0.
✅ Diet: Worms, sinking pellets, crustaceans, insects, and other meaty foods.
✅ Special Feature: Breathes atmospheric air and must have access to the water surface.
