This Sunday is the annual South Australian Baltic Christmas Market, this time at Latvian Hall. It's a wonderfully social day with many beautiful items to buy, and delicious food to be had.

Let's honour our privilege to freely celebrate our cultures, and the friendship and support between the Baltic States.

Remember to bring some cash, many are small stall holders and may not have EFTPOS facilities.

Thank you to Louise Brawn and Gawler Community Gallery for providing the opportunity and beautiful exhibition space for my mother, Ilze Ess' exhibition launch today.

Many thanks to Dr Valdis Tomanis, Honorary Consul of Latvia, for officially opening the exhibition, which ends on 16th June.

Thank you to those who were able to join us today, and many thanks again to Lobethal Road Wines and and Otherness Wines for their beautiful wines!

I warmly invite you to a rare opportunity to view my mother's stunning fine needle etchings she created while studying in Switzerland at the Applied Art School in Zurich in 1972.
Join us at Gawler Community Gallery from 23 May 2024, 10:00 am – 16 June 2024, 1:00 pm.

"A fine art etching series "Sleeping Beauty" that was created by Ilze, is in the collection of the Applied Art School of Zurich Switzerland. Her artworks are also held in private collections in Latvia and Australia.

Ilze has illustrated 5 Latvian language books, and has been an artist for over 50 years. In recent years she has started painting in acrylics, as well as block printing lino cuts of Latvian symbols and designs.
Ilze was born in Adelaide to Latvian parents."

Come along this Sunday to the Baltic Market at Lithuanian House, Adelaide, South Australia! It's always a lovely day, and even if you don't want to buy anything, it's a nice way to hang out with the Balts, have a coffee and a chat and maybe meet some new friends. See you there?

The Baltic Market is only a week away.
Amongst the stall holders will be Nord Haus _ Shop Latvian Decor Portia Stanton-Noble . Come and support the stall holders, some are community groups raising funds. Coffee van will be on site. Bring cash as not all stall holders have EFTPOS.

The BALTIC CHRISTMAS MARKET is on tomorrow, Sunday 27 November from 11am to 3pm, at Adelaide's Latvian Hall 'Tālava', 4 Clark St, Wayville, SA! 🇱🇻

I'll be selling my glassware, the perfect gift! 😀

This is a wonderful event, showcasing Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian craftspeople, and the general public are most welcome!

Food will be available for purchase and the bar will be open!🍺
