Lately I have been excited to see a surge in litter picking up content. People all around the world cleaning up areas with amazing before and after results, or picking up an extra piece of rubbish for every new follower.

I have always been an avid litter picker upper and it has me wondering about the way I used to document this, and if it's something I too should document better?

Supermarket produce bags are compostable thanks to the single-use plastic bans.

They can be used to line your kitchen caddies and can go into your green bin.
They're made from natural plant starch and completely break down into compost.

If you're not sure whether a bag can go in your green bin, simply look for the seedling logo. This tells you it can go in your green bin.

And even better, many of them are locally SA made by BioBag World Australia

Have you ended up with a few gifts that you aren't so sure about?
Rather than shoving them into a cupboard to find during a cleanout years later, consider re-gifting them through your local Buy Nothing Group or similar, swapping with friends or donating them to charity.

If donating to charity stores, wait a week or two to make sure they are re-opened before donating. Anything left outside closed stores unfortunately has to be sent to landfill, at the cost of the charity! 😬

A recent study conducted by RMIT University has revealed that Australians are confused about how to responsibly dispose of their unwanted clothing.

This confusion has led about a third of respondents to throw their clothes directly into the rubbish, contributing to the country’s growing textile waste problem. The study, which surveyed 3,080 Australians, found that 84% owned clothes they hadn’t worn in the past year, and a third had never worn more than half of their wardrobe.
