🎉 Today, we are celebrating 24 years of Send A Gourmet Basket🎉

When I look back over the past two decades, I'm reminded that running a small business is rarely straightforward, and it's certainly never a straight line. There have been exciting highs, unexpected challenges, changing markets, and plenty of moments where we've had to adapt and rethink the way we do things.

Twenty-four years in business certainly doesn't happen on its own.

Through it all, one thing has remained the same—our appreciation for all the people who have supported us.

To our loyal clients, thank you for trusting us with your gifts, year after year. To our wonderful South Australian suppliers, thank you for producing the incredible products that make our hampers so special. And to the many people we've met along the way, thank you for your encouragement, advice and friendship.

Like many small businesses, we continue to navigate rising costs and an ever-changing business landscape. But we're still here, still learning, still adapting, and still passionate about creating thoughtful gifts while supporting local producers and businesses.

Today was one of those days that reminds me why I love what I do ❤️

I spent the afternoon at the Future of Food + Drink Trade Show hosted by Food South Australia, catching up with some of our wonderful suppliers, meeting a few potential new ones, and discovering products that sparked my interest.

I always come away from events like this with my head full of ideas. There was plenty of inspiration for Christmas hampers, along with some possibilities for refreshing our everyday hamper range.

Of course, no food trade show would be complete without plenty of sampling along the way! I may have eaten my way around the room, and I certainly didn't leave empty-handed 😁

It's exciting to see so many South Australian producers creating such great products, and I'm looking forward to exploring some of today's discoveries further.

New to our website: Just a Little Something

Over the years, we’ve learned that not every gift needs to be grand to be meaningful. With that in mind we’ve just added a new product to our website and we’re excited to share it with you.

Every now and then, a gift hamper reminds us that it’s not just about what’s inside the box — it’s about the memories and connections behind it.
Recently, we created a bespoke hamper for a client in England whose dad here in Adelaide was celebrating his 80th birthday. She wanted it to feel extra special and asked if we could include a couple of tins of Fray Bentos Steak & Kidney Pies because they were a childhood treat for him growing up in the UK — and apparently still are!
I vaguely remember my own parents buying them years ago, so I thought sourcing them might be a challenge. It turns out that it wasn’t a challenge at all - the local supermarket had them sitting right on the shelf!
The pies were included in the hamper, and we ended up with one very happy client and one very surprised birthday recipient.
Living close to family and being able to see them whenever we want, it’s easy to forget how hard it must be when your loved ones are on the other side of the world. Being trusted to help make an important occasion feel personal and memorable was incredibly special.
Sometimes it’s the simplest things — the products that bring back memories of home, childhood, and family — that mean the most. ❤️

It’s beginning to look a lot like Mother’s Day 🎁

The last of our stock has arrived, and opening these boxes is still one of the best parts of the job. A bit like Christmas — unwrapping everything and seeing it all come together.

There’s always that small moment of panic - “I hope this is as lovely as it looked when we ordered it”… and of course, this delivery didn’t disappoint.
