Every now and then, a gift hamper reminds us that it’s not just about what’s inside the box — it’s about the memories and connections behind it.
Recently, we created a bespoke hamper for a client in England whose dad here in Adelaide was celebrating his 80th birthday. She wanted it to feel extra special and asked if we could include a couple of tins of Fray Bentos Steak & Kidney Pies because they were a childhood treat for him growing up in the UK — and apparently still are!
I vaguely remember my own parents buying them years ago, so I thought sourcing them might be a challenge. It turns out that it wasn’t a challenge at all - the local supermarket had them sitting right on the shelf!
The pies were included in the hamper, and we ended up with one very happy client and one very surprised birthday recipient.
Living close to family and being able to see them whenever we want, it’s easy to forget how hard it must be when your loved ones are on the other side of the world. Being trusted to help make an important occasion feel personal and memorable was incredibly special.
Sometimes it’s the simplest things — the products that bring back memories of home, childhood, and family — that mean the most. ❤️
