Next in the creative process, Granny Lanny goes from the chaos of throwing things on the pin up blanket to reorganising them to create balance and shape.

How do you take your next step in creating your special projects?

Still on the Cat in the Hat theme. This is how Granny Lanny starts the creative process when she has a quilt idea in her head, a stash of fabrics, and no pattern.

What do you use as your 'vision board' when getting creative?

January is racing by - lots of fabrics being washed and ironed, lots of ideas, and then there are the UFOs (UnFinished Objects).

A lot of my WIPs (Works in Progress) moved to the UFO list when I moved house 4 years ago. Here's a quilt project I will be working on soon (after I dig it out of my UFO stash) for my grandson who is due in May (it was originally going to be for his big sister - at least it's still for the same family). The nice surprise was that I had finished piecing the top!

Which of your UFOs are you going to resurrect and finish this year? We can encourage each other :D

Granny Lanny's Christmases have all come at once ... literally!!

Granny is very excited. She ordered some Christmas fabrics (on sale of course) from Spotlight. One by one the notifications came in that this one and that one were cancelled as stock ran out. Fingers were crossed, toes were crossed. Finally the ones they had in stock have arrived!

Next job, hand washing and ironing them all ready for the roller cutter and sewing machine. Granny's going to be busy this week!

Be like Gilbert
And for $15 each Granny Lanny can make you a gorgeous reusable mask from her selection of over 100 fabrics - with either ear elastics or ribbons, UV sanitised, and posted to you ready for wear when you open it. The masks are the same style modelled by Gilbert, constructed with 3 layers, complete with moldable nose bridge

Yesterday we introduced Gilbert, the Launceston General Hospital emergency department’s first four-legged recruit.

As well as his role as facility dog, Gilbert has been helping patients and visitors learn how to wear their face masks correctly in the hospital.

And he’s already left his pawprint on social media with a patient sharing a picture of Gilbert’s advice. The poster has been requested by hospitals and healthcare facilities internationally.

Thank you for your help Gilbert, we will be sure to wear our masks like you!
