I was very happy to be part of this wonderful international event , one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world.
The competition is often called the “Wine Olympics” because it brings together top wine experts from around the world. In Armenia, it gathered more than 400 wine professionals from around 60–65 countries, including sommeliers, wine buyers, journalists, and critics.
During the event, they tasted and evaluated around 7,500 wines in blind tastings over three days in Yerevan (May 21–23, 2026).
This competition is very important because wines are judged only by quality — no labels, no brands, only taste and structure. That makes the results highly respected worldwide.
For Armenia, hosting this event is a big achievement. It helps show Armenia as an ancient wine country with a modern and developing wine industry. It also gives a great opportunity for Armenian wines to become more recognizable internationally and reach new markets. winefoundationofarmenia
