Broker and/or Brokers Assistant
FULL TIME
We are looking to expand our team!
Duties:
• Handling ocean, air, and ground activity for both imports & exports
• Communicating with customers, agents, carriers, and brokers
• Obtaining / preparing and checking all necessary documentation to satisfy government, and carrier requirements.
• Effectively coordinate with customer services, shipping and purchasing to understand and adhere to delivery deadlines, shipment readiness timelines and customer unique procedural and /or document requirements
• Conduct thorough inspections of goods before delivery. Pack and load goods into vehicles according to company specifications. Unloading goods as per client specification when required.
• Dress professionally and appropriate footwear, in accordance with company dress code.
Requirements:
• Experience in Import and Export industry
• Work Experience in Antigua Port
• Experience in Customs brokerage (Asycuda)
• Solid communication skills, and the ability to talk with different types of people
• Own a vehicle and Valid Driver’s license
• 25 years and older. Advantage if you can drive left hand vehicle. Including light vehicles
Will need to pass test for larger vehicles and upgrade to a D2 or D3 driving license if don’t already have one.
• Good driving records with no traffic violations
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Detailed oriented individual with strong problem solving skills and the ability to work in a high pressure environment while handling multiple assignment
• Documentation skills and the ability to operate and communicate effectively with excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
• Reasoning ability, support and prioritize projects, adapt to shifting priorities, work with minimal supervision, able to resolve problems / conflicts.
• Builds rapport with customers, is committed to meeting customer expectations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as adapts and uses technology to improve productivity.
• Deals with others in a straightforward and honest manner, is accountable for actions, maintains confidentiality, and supports company values.
• Adapts to change, is open to new ideas, takes on new responsibilities, handles pressure, and adjusts plans to meet changing needs.
