This is Rangkaat Dupion Silk — and no photograph will ever fully do it justice.

The base is woven in the ancient Rangkaat tradition, where pure silk threads are dyed in graduated tones before a single metre is ever placed on the loom. The result is a ground that shifts — amber bleeding into rust, teal dissolving into shadow, fuchsia colliding with violet — each colour alive, never static, never the same twice.

Laid across that shifting ground: a continuous Zari Jaal of trailing botanical vines, each bloom woven in real silver Zari with delicate petal detailing in melon, blush, sky and gold. The kind of work that takes a master weaver hours per inch.

Mulberry Dusk is the most dramatic piece in this collection — and it knows it. Fuchsia that erupts into royal purple, chocolate that anchors the chaos, the whole ground shifting like a sunset you can’t look away from. Over all of it, the same continuous silver Zari Jaal — botanical, ancient, impossibly fine.

This colourway was made for the Khaleeji woman who walks into a wedding and doesn’t need to announce herself. Made into a lehenga, it needs only a simple blouse. As an abaya with a silk lining, it becomes architecture. As a gown — unmatched.
