The ICON weather model is pretty aggressive with the temperatures for this Thursday, suggesting a much warmer day across the country. Temperatures will climb to 30°C in the afternoon over parts of the Northern Cape, North West, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga.

Elsewhere it will range from warm to very warm in the afternoon, but it will remain cool over the southern parts of the country.

There is also a very small chance of a few light sprinkles over parts of coastal KwaZulu‑Natal.

It has been quite cold over most parts of the country and wet today. It is currently overcast with on‑and‑off showers over the Johannesburg metro and surroundings.

Now let’s see how things will be this Wednesday: most of the rain will be clearing, with only scattered showers and rain over the coastal areas of KwaZulu‑Natal and parts of the eastern coastline of the Eastern Cape. Otherwise, isolated showers are possible over Mpumalanga, northeastern Free State, northeastern North West, southeastern Limpopo, parts of Eastern Cape a slim chance over parts of the central Karoo in the Western Cape and Gauteng.

🌡️ Temperatures:

Morning: The cold weather will stick around, still quite cold across the country, with temperatures in single digits again.

Afternoon: Barely making it above 20°C across most parts of the country, and below 15°C over the central regions.
