Listen, sometimes bad things happen to good people… and sometimes you just have butter fingers, bestie.

We’ve all been there… you open that vacuum bag like it’s a bag of chips and suddenly your filament is breakdancing across the floor. Or worse, you get a spool that arrived looking like it lost a fight with a lawnmower.

Not here though.

Our filament spools are so secure, they’ve been personally stress-tested, drop-tested, and side-eye-tested by yours truly. They’re basically the Fort Knox of plastic wire.

If you don’t believe me… go ahead and try to break one. I dare you 😏 Just remember you broke it and I won’t take the blame.

Or you could skip the science experiment and just go grab some actually reliable filament that won’t betray you.

I really thought my upscaled carbon fiber Benchy was out here serving looks and structural superiority… until a client casually yeeted me back to Earth with his print.

So real question: do I take my Benchy down and wear the shame, or leave it up as a humble monument to my former arrogance?

P.S. What do you think of this OceanGate Titan print though? (Obviously done in our filament...) My client is now looking for 4 billionaires to complete the set.

I just had to reprint this gloriously upscaled carbon fiber Benchy. Regular size was simply too pedestrian for me. Banana for scale, because we’re not pretending to be humble here.

Well, we’re off to restock the filament vault like the absolute legends we are. First stop: diesel. Because nothing says “business mogul” quite like pulling up in your Sunday best. That said: Ek moes my mooi moois aantrek for this expensive occasion, a man’s gotta look sharp when he’s about to get politely robbed at the pump.

Of course I’m also packing the balaclava… for potential “diesel discount negotiations.” We’re working hard here at The Filament Guy.

We’re literally risking it all (mostly my blood pressure and bank account) to bring you the best filament prices. Keep an eye on the website, we’ll update the second we survive this mission and the balaclava discount goes off without a single siren.

Temporary Cancellation of Free PUDO on Orders Over R2000

By now, everyone’s heard about the drama in the Strait of Hormuz. You know, that narrow little ocean corridor where things are tense enough to make your filament spool start tangling.

Here’s how it’s biting us (and you) in the filament game:

Factory prices have jumped R2–R7 per kg on normal filaments. Don’t even ask me about the carbon fibre or engineering stuff… those increases make me want to cry in a corner. Shipping costs are up nearly R500 per CBM, and then our local transport from the warehouse to us decided to join the party too with South Africa’s latest fuel price hike (thanks to our legendary 30% maths pass rate and some creative spreadsheet work) and suddenly everything costs even more.

I still find it hilarious that our fuel prices must stay “on par with international fuel prices” while our salaries are playing in the junior league. At this rate we’re soon going to need balaclavas just to fill up the bakkie.

Everyone’s feeling the pinch, including us. So to keep our filament prices stable for as long as humanly possible, we’ve had to make one small change:
Free PUDO is temporarily suspended on orders over R2000.

It’s not forever (We hope)… just until the world calms down and shipping rates stop acting like they’ve had too much espresso. We’d rather tweak delivery perks than start slapping price increases on you every month.

We really appreciate your continued support while the global supply chain has its little meltdown. You guys keep printing, we’ll keep hustling to keep the filament flowing as affordably as we can.
