Unlike our Backdraft Cobra road cars, our race cars don't have opening doors.

So how do you get in?

Simple... climb over the roll cage and carefully work your way down into the cockpit. It's not exactly the most graceful entrance, but it's all part of the racing experience!

Just like the old days, getting into a race car is a bit like conquering a jungle gym. Once you're strapped in, though, there's only one thing on your mind: the next corner.

With the heavy rainfall in the Eastern Cape, the Backdraft Racing Series is well prepared for a rainy day at the track.

Our cars are equipped with Dunlop Tyres SA Direzza semi-slick tyres, which means that if rain starts during an endurance race, there's no need for a pit stop. Our competitors can simply keep going and focus on the race.

Our long-time competitor Fikile Holomisa has a few surprises in store for Round 3 at the Aldo Scribante Racetrack .

One of them we can reveal already: he will be teaming up with Xolela Njumbuxa, better known as Mr. X.

Itโ€™s a real case of dรฉjร  vu. Back in April 2025, the pair already joined forces in a Backdraft Cobra, and now theyโ€™re back together for another shot at glory.

Red-hot brakes are one of the spectacular sights you'll witness during the 5-Hour Endurance Race on Saturday, 13 June at Aldo Scribante Racetrack.

It's a phenomenon best appreciated after sunset, when glowing brake discs light up the darkness under heavy braking. It's a visual demonstration of the incredible performance delivered by our Pagid Racing S A brake pads.

No, we're not talking about dropping a gear this time โ€” we're talking about drop rounds!

Every competitor in the championship is required to drop one result from the seven-round season. That could be a round they didn't compete in, or simply their lowest-scoring result.

With the drop-round rule in place, the championship remains wide open right until the very end. One bad weekend doesn't end a title challenge, and every point matters.

That means there's a very good chance we won't know who the 2026 Backdraft Racing Series Champion is until the final chequered flag falls in Cape Town.
