Replacing a door lock (interlock) on a front-loader washing machine is a moderate DIY job and usually takes 20–40 minutes.
Safety first

Unplug the washing machine from the power before starting. This is very important.

🔧 Step-by-step instructions

1️⃣ Open the door and remove the rubber seal clamp
• Open the washer door.
• Around the rubber gasket (seal) is a wire or spring clamp.
• Use a flat screwdriver to carefully pry it off.
• Peel the rubber seal back only around the door area.

2️⃣ Remove the door lock screws
• On the front of the machine (near the door lock), you’ll see 2 or 3 screws.
• Unscrew them.

3️⃣ Pull the door lock inside
• Reach behind the front panel and pull the lock inward.
• Carefully pull it out enough to access the wires.

4️⃣ Disconnect the wires
• Take a photo of the wire connections (important!).
• Remove the connectors from the old lock.

5️⃣ Install the new lock
• Connect the wires to the new door lock exactly as before.
• Push the lock back into position.
• Screw it back in place.

6️⃣ Refit the rubber seal and clamp
• Put the rubber seal back into position.
• Reinstall the wire/spring clamp around the seal.

7️⃣ Test the machine
• Plug in the washer.
• Close the door and try starting a cycle.
• You should hear the click of the door locking.
