A brilliant evening yesterday at the annual Pembrokeshire Lifeguard Biathlon. The challenge is a 1.5km run from the Broad Haven Lifeguard hut over the hill to the Little Haven Point (in wetsuits), then a 750m sea swim back to the Broad Haven slip. This year saw a turnout of twenty participants in beautiful conditions, including some of our crew, and the boat was out on exercise keeping tabs on their progress. Well done to all πŸ‘ πŸ‘

A big thanks to all those that came to our open day yesterday! Always a pleasure to open the doors, chat about our station and share our rescue stories. The sun shone for us and the regatta and we had a great number of people through the door β˜€οΈ 😁

SHOUT! πŸ“Ÿ Crew were paged at 19:51 yesterday (Sunday) to reports of two persons cut off by the tide on the south side of Nolton Haven. The casualties were brought safely to shore, where HM Coastguard - Broad Haven were on scene to offer further assistance if required. Both persons were OK and in good spirits so the crew were able to return to station to refuel and wash down for next service. A successful joint agency operation.

🚨SHOUT πŸ“Ÿ Boat launched at 14.28 yesterday (Saturday) to reports of a casualty requiring a medical evacuation (Medivac) from a yacht near Skomer. The crew transferred the casualty from their yacht onto the All-Weather Lifeboat (ALB) β€˜Mark Mason’ from Angle Lifeboat RNLI, who then took them to Milford Haven for onward care. Boat returned at 16.24 for wash down and refuelling for next service. A great joint effort between flank stations.

We celebrated the Sea Sunday service with Goodwick Brass Band last weekend. This is an annual event where churches worldwide pray for seafarers, fishers, and their families, give thanks for their work, and support maritime charities. The sun shone and the music was fabulous! β˜€οΈ 🎢

πŸ“ŸπŸ“Ÿ The first day of the school holidays and two call-outs yesterday. Firstly to reports if swimmers in difficulty on Points Castle beach, who thankfully were able to make their way to shore before our arrival. Secondly, two paddle boarders in difficulty at Newgale, who had been assisted back to the beach by other members of the public when we arrived. Positive outcomes for both shouts, so we were able to make our way back to station to be made ready for next service.

A successful multi agency operation this afternoon.

A successful multi agency operation this afternoon.

Incident today for our station.
Our watchkeepers were watching 3 kayakers attempting to return from Skomer through Jack Sound. They disappeared from sight at the station having been pushed south. Whilst 1WK kept a look out for them the other went out to find them. They were seen from the cliff top path in a bay and confirmed that help was needed.
HM Coastguard called & Angle Lifeboat RNLI & Little & Broad Haven Lifeboat tasked.
Rescue completed, excellent teamwork amongst Pembrokeshire Search and Rescue agencies
Big thank you for the donation from the kayakers πŸ™
