This listing is for John Denver Rocky Mountain High/Spring 45rpm 1972 7” single. It is in very good condition with a few light scratches on side A, in a new white paper sleeve, some light wear on center sticker.

First off, I would like to say that this is not a sad post, it is an overwhelming relief.

On May 11 our family decided to take in 2 4-week foster kittens, Axl and Duff. On May 13, I received the LLC for Pure Joy Records, which I had intended to open as a storefront and all ages venue in my cursed hometown of Altoona, PA. On May 18, I was hospitalized for the rest of the month, and I have been in and out since.

Obviously I had to improvise. Sales went to eBay and some pop-ups as I thought I could. But I'm tired, and I'm sick, and I do not have the energy. If you are still looking for records after the end of the year, I will still be posting them occasionally as always on my personal eBay (cptnbadass); you'll just have to sort through my jeans. I still have to sort through our personal records, which might take a few years, so there may be multiples of some good finds in there.

The good news is I'm having a sale (ebay only):

“Why is your @ purejoyaltoona? You’re not in Altoona!”

Well, I meant to be. Altoona is my hometown, my parents’ hometown, my grandparents’ hometown (my pap worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad—truly Altoona coded). I had this bee in my bonnet to open an all ages venue/record store (think: former Chronic Town in State College, or The Government Center in Pittsburgh) in downtown Altoona (which is getting pretty cute, I might add). I met with various business development groups (they liked it!), looked at real estate, and received my LLC on May 13.

By May 18, I was hospitalized for the first time this summer. I’ll spare you the details, but brat summer was pretty much a bust. And I needed to adjust business to meet my health needs for the time being, which means working from home and doing pop-ups here and there for now.

I have not dismissed the idea of the venue just yet. It is just on hold, and will need a lot of community support to run smoothly when I’m not there.
